So so helpful!! This is exactly what I was looking for. Also, in case someone else comes across the problem that I did around 10:15 where Shift + Channel/ Midi is NOT turning your view to Midi mode. You may have turned off the template accidentally like I did while figuring out the instructions. You can redo the Maschine templates by opening the Controller Editor and resetting the template.

This is the only tutorial I have seen that gets me anywhere near where I wanted to be, which was very simply to use Maschine in a relatively normal way but in the context of whatever else is going on in Logic at the time, and using Logic as the actual recorder. Thank you so VERY MUCH!

Can you use note repeat when maschine on midi mode

I am having midi mixed signals with my ableton push and K2 within traktor. Certain pads K2 are triggering my push....any thoughts on a fix? Thanks for any tips!!!

Just use an iPad Pro to control all the interfaces in Logic. You're welcome.

@JoiseCarr I too follow the aggregate device way back. I was able to hear the output in multiple interfaces simultaneously.But after using time machine and downgrade to Ventura OS. I can't hear output in multiple interfaces

This is so helpful; I never knew I could do this. I needed to use a second I/O so I could get a MIDI input, and now i realise I can use them both for audio this has saved me a whole lot of hassle - thanks so much, Josie.

I was bascally forced to switch from SONAR PLATINUM several years ago as Sonar elected to stop using MIDI SYNC and I do everything live. I'd been a windows user since around 1987 so MacOS was a stranger to me even though I have a strong Software background. When Apple relased their M1 SoC I had to have one as I was very familiar with SoC's as we had designed one for Automotive Elecronics use in 1994. With my M1 MacBook Pro Max came Logic Pro. I thought I may as well make the transition away from Ableton and into Logic Pro, especially when I found out that my vast plugin library could be used in Logic Pro through Ableton and hopefully I'll be able to use the MIDI Clock Sync. The jury is still out on that topic. Thank you for taking the time to make this video but to be honest it didn't help me much. By you not using a "Clean Sheet" with only a MacBook & MIDI Controller it was confusing. I believe you'd get a lot more viewers were you to simplify this as recommended.

Thanks! I just started Ableton and used to use this feature in Garageband to save time, pretty cool can leverage this now as was easy fast way to create ideas. Thank you, man! Is it possible to use the MK3 as a midi controller for example via a drum rack and change the colour of the pads depending on the songs? For example my first song I use pads 1,2,3 and 4 they automatically turn on in red to tell me that they are playing in this song. When I switch to the second song, they turn off because I don't use them but pads 5,6 and 7 turn on because they are on this second piece. A kind of custom pad colours depending on what is played in my drum rack or not according to this or that song?

Is there a way to have a count in when recording without the MK3 controller? If I have a 16 bar loop on one sound, is there a way to have count in without waiting until a long loop loops back around to the beginning?

Everything has worked as desired for option 3, but I'm having one small issue - when I physically hit pad 1 (bottom left most rubber pad) on the maschine, it triggers Midi note C3 in the drum rack. I used to be able to get this hit to trigger C1 automatically. Is there any way to reassign which drum rack note within ableton to which the machine rubber pads will trigger? Thanks!
