Suggestions: it's a very tough spot to start a brand new chess channel today, at the very last minutes of 2024. Many streamers/tubers will tell you, the curve is past. But maybe you dont wanna become a tuber? In any case, if you want to have a channel competing for chess audiences you basically have to copy the recipe so many others have tried: mic, lighting, obs cropping, second monitor, narration, and finally scripting - yes, write down an actual script for the video so you dont get stuck in hesitation or too many "uhs". The delivery is almost more important than the content itself (as you know many chess channels are sh&t but have many views/subs; inexplicable?)
@AlezierChessКүн бұрын
I believe I found the source of the problem! I have to mute the desktop audio, and ONLY have on the mic audio in OBS settings! It should not happen again in the next video! Thank you for your feedback! I may re-record this exact video for comparisons sake, then film my next video after I get the "all is well" from you the viewer! Please send me your lichess usernames via lichess site messaging so that I can include you in the tournament! It will be Friday the 13th at 4pm Brooklyn New York Time! Thank you all for watching! Get better every day, and realize your potential! Edit: On a related note, send these videos to your chess friends! Once I hit 1,000 subscribers, I will be investing in a nice camera for everyone to see me more clearly! Thank you again! Have a good day!

Yes! Try to solve tactical puzzles as fast as you can! Especially Puzzle Storm, and Puzzle Racer on lichess.org. Also, work on knowing your openings well, for the first 10-15 moves. Also, at the end, under 3 seconds for your opponent, learn when you can do dirty checks that lose pieces, but cost your opponent the rest of their time. Also, get your endgame up, so you can play faster in that critical phase! Study Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual. Especially King and Pawn, and Rook and Pawn endgames! Learn when you can make SAFE premoves, Safe meaning there are no pieces your opponent can premove to capture you, or threaten to take you with. For example, if you have a knight on f3, as White, and Black has a pawn on e5, Castling is NOT a safe premove, as Black might play ...e4 and after you Castle, will take your knight! Hope the tips help! Enjoy!

lichess.org/study/JAmAJSdO Link to the study so you can check it for yourself! 😄 Let me know what my next video tutorial should be on! I am bad at tech, but I will be looking at tutorials to set up my mic later today, and it should be ready by the next video or two! I will be buying a nice desk lamp as well to get better lighting in my room! I appreciate each and every one of you for watching! You are all forcing me to up my game as well! 😁❤ Anyone who knows me knows that I am known for my endgame, and my tactics! I played the Jobava and the Owens for the past 8 and 6 years respectively. Since April I have switched to 1 e4 to suit my aggressive style, and that is when I first started watching Marc Esserman who gave me inspiration to play even more sharply. Now, all of you are inspiring me to get all of my openings bulletproof, as I need to be an even better teacher, and also a player! I also know that my tournament opponents will be checking my games on my road to National Master, which is my long-term goal, so I have to get to work on these lines, and have them as crisp as possible! I was already doing the work, but now I am motivated to work twice as hard! More videos coming, and I will try to post daily from now on! Also, gym videos will be coming, as Chess is a sedentary sport, and I would like to encourage all of you (and myself!) to be motivated for our physical well being as well! Thank you for watching! I hope this tutorial serves you well! Enjoy!

Alex Banzea is a good chess player, and and even better chess youtuber. He climbed the yt ranks fairly quickly (~3 years) by good production (camera quality, positioning, logical cuts, smooth audio) and he has an excellent script writing/storytelling skills. I feel like I'm playing the games with him. He targets a wide, general audience (who are by definition not on his or your chess level). The pacing he uses draws me in and retains me as a viewer. You can see his evolution from his oldest videos. Good "clickbait" / topical game, really strong thumbnail game nowadays. The Epic Chess channel is at the top for even newer entrants. He really focuses on script writing, and targets the ~10min video segment. Prob less watch time than Banzea, but higher retention if I had to guess. You're obviously quite strong at chess. Road to GM or themed Speedruns can streamline content generation, but live stuff seems much harder to film and edit. But its your channel! Do what you want. As a viewer it seems like yt is its own beatable strategy game. Agad has become his own endearing character naturally and has stood the test of time. Gotham obviously really hams it up; very animated, talented at conveying chess drama. Best of luck whatever you decide. I'd love a series on you getting titles when you're ready for it, assuming youre not already a GM.

Game 10 this morning... and now your video. This is chess overload for my feeble mind. Smith Morra is deadly, thanks for the tips although I'm still a beginner I'll give it a try next time i'm in Sicily. I watch different channels at different speeds. For yours, I'm set on 1.3 X playback speed. Time is precious.
