Was lucky to see them open for DM in 1993- ignorant as I was then had never heard of The The. From that moment I was hooked. Saw them in Sacramento in 2000, then in Durham just a month ago to the day. Ensoulment is a masterpiece and Matt's ability to write music that resonates the aortic pulse of the moment whilst songs 40 year old are still so very relevant. It is hard to hear Cognitive Dissident and Kissing the Ring after the election. "The coup that nobody noticed"-
