How does it buff up? It it easy to buff, or it it one of those stupidly hard clears that you have to run out to 5000 to be able to buff it up? Shopline 6700/6800 2:1 buffs amazingly easy. Perfecoat 2:1 buffs terribly.

I've been talking with the reps for matrix Edge. And it looks like we're going to go ahead and put a system in. So I'm watching everything I can watch and I'm reading everything I can read on it. I really like this video because this guy seems like a nice guy, he's got a homemade booth and he's grinding and out just givn'r. I love videos like this. Thanks for making it! It's inspiring.

I just wanted to research the best practices, products and price that I will can paint my 67 Chevy C10 with a white over a "Copper-Head" homage while keeping it stock looking during my retirement with an LS swap, 700R4 I bench build with some long lasting goodies inside. Thanks so much. Congratulations on the "Maverick" award some years ago.

I hope that it is available in the Omaha, NE. market and not super expensive. As a retired auto tech, money is super tight to start with and boy, I can tell some medical nightmares that cost buckets of money and don't get any positive results and like some chick-flick, get an email for a device / software company saying; We are sorry, but we don't think we can be of any additional help at time. Wait? What? I am having a serious time thinking this thru, can I do my truck? A vehicle for me. Guys, when you are 6' 3" tall, is it fun getting out of a medium sized car where the floor is lower than the frame? No! Living on the money I brought home in 1982 is not fun. I have saved and bought a lot of stuff, not fancy just parts that will last for years, bolt them on after the bodywork gets done correctly, including inside doors, fenders, bedsides...a hundred little places the stuff collects and cause rust from the inside. So, doing me research, I am down to color and clear. The rest will come. I just some simple to drive and a tested used 03 Tahoe engine with my automatic behind it will work. I have budgeted for everything including inside wax coating and I have the tools. DK, ASE master tech since 78, retired.

This paint does pop, big TIG time! As retired / disabled ASE Master Tech since 78, I was simply researching new paint chemistry yet found "Matrix" on Counts Kustoms on over the air TV. I can't afford to spend money on cable or satellite. But after working on a 67 C10 for my son, he gave up on the idea of the business he needed a truck for, gave it to me. Then, he found out what black ice is, slammed his 03 Tahoe sideways and had it towed to my back yard. Great, now if have to learn the world of "LS Swap" into the 67-72 C10. As a tech, I diagnose vehicles and fix the over 4 decades. I knew paint chemistry had changed big-time and had to research, yet if I can afford matrix products after 4 lumbar fusions, an RFA, followed by three attempts to place electrodes inside my epidural space and get it right, they couldn't, then quit, but left me in bad pain as I am sure arthritis is causing more pain as I enter my 60's. Now comes this truck. At 6' 3" I can't get in or out easy in the smaller car we have that is my wife's. So, until I get it done next year, and ready for paint, I am doing inside stuff as it has little rust. Just panel gaps and a lot of sanding. Fortunately, I was shopping at a close home improvement store and was buying a gallon of paint stripper so I could start on clean metal & surprises. I bought two the next week then more as weeks passed and prices climbed. Why? Soon, as everyone knows the EPA banned Methylene Chloride. I am glad I have 13 gallons of the good stuff. If you want to do a home chemical strip, check online / KZbin for "Cooper Strip Club". They are in New Zealand and free shipping over $250. But it's two parts; spray stripper and metal conditioner called "Flusher". They have kits that include spray bottles, detail brushes and dense scotch-brite, and a sharp thick steel wool from England. Either way, it works great! DK, ASE Master since 78, retired.

I agree with true car art. This is the $1M Mona Lisa on a vehicle. An old gentleman I have never met, added a third garage stall to his two car garage into an open lot. Next thing I know, here comes a boat tail Riviera out for a drive in new condition. DK, ASE Master Tech since 78, retired.

I notice that the Matrix labels say Valspar now....and I think Valspar has been gobbled up by Sherwin Williams. I had a body shop for 30 years and used PPG products. When I closed the business and just completes I started using MS 42 clear. Really like it ....you can cut and buff it 2 years later and it shines right up....good product.

Why do the euro clears have so much orange peel to them? can you add some reducer to that?
@acemogany6369
@acemogany6369 3 жыл бұрын
Orange Peel can be caused by either too much pressure or not enough pressure and most the time it's from too much pressure
@garylivingston9052
@garylivingston9052 3 жыл бұрын
@@acemogany6369 I have been a professional painter for over 30 years and my gripe is with the high solids clears. High air pressure acrylic enamel would lay out like glass and flow beautifully but urethane has orange peel in it no matter how you spray it because it is designed to match factory texture on cars which is peely.I just like a nice flat paint job without having to sand the crap out of it to get the look i want.I do mainly high end jobs and sand them flat anyways but that thick wavy look is hard to get rid of in high solids material.

@@bimmersc7104 the hardener makes no difference how it sprays, that would be the right temp reducers job.

@@garylivingston9052 the hardener makes a huge difference in how it lays out, if it sets up quick or has time to flow.... I try not to reduce clears, or I should say I don't use clears that require reducers, they end up being difficult to guage how much they will change as the reducer gases off and the clear dies back. Don't reduce the clear to get it to spray through a certain gun, choose the right gun/tip and pressure and adjust your technique. Or whatever works for you, this just works for me....
