Finally! Instruction without the ego and the whole I'm right and everybody else is wrong attitude. Great Instruction and totally agree 75 percent is the most the two highest wedges need. This is why I go see my local PGA Pro.

This was an EXCEPTIONAL video including everything from video quality, presentation quality and informational quality. I've watched a lot of KZbin golf videos over the past 15 years and this would easily be within the Top 10.

I'm using a sledge hammer to master the golf swing. Forces me to route the club inside and up, akin to Bobby Jones, then as the lift hips begins to rotate, KaPoW 💥 at impact thanks to a technique I learned in professional arm wrestling which uses the right shoulder, powerful like a cannon ball to power through the ball. Side note: I only take the sledge hammer to hands just higher than my belt to master the routing of in, then up, before the shoulder loops the club back onto a shallow plane. Sound reasonable to you?

How would you adjust this drill for an uphill, downhill, or uneven lie?
@markrussopga4 жыл бұрын
Shane - the angle to the ground for side hill lies does change; flatter for above the feet, steeper for below the feet. Very important to make these adjustments so that you can find the bottom of the swing in the right place. This doesn't change much however for uphill/downhill lies; it's more important to get the angle of your shoulders at address working with the slope. Thanks!

Mark That is the best short game lesson for someone like myself who’s struggling with the pitching and chipping yips that I’ve seen. Great delivery, concise and simple.........well done and thank you!!

Mark Russo, PGA sorry it’s my wife’s account I’m Bryan but really enjoyed the video. I’m struggling at present with same thing in my putting. It’s actually gone from my putting into my chipping. It’s difficult to see the end of it really and especially when you’ve played to a good standard.

Shiwoo Kim Thanks for the comment. I disagree. My info is based on teaching over 1,000 lessons a year, how about you? Oh, and it’s 2018 and I still use this drill and make people better. Be well.

Looking at your hitting mat seems about an inch higher than your hitting surface. Could this be a problem when a player gets out of a course?
@markrussopga7 жыл бұрын
justpar2012 Thanks for watching. The hitting mat is the Boditrak mat and is slightly higher than the main mat. But given that lies on the course are never very flat to begin with, it wouldn't effect anything. The point about hitting the ground still applies regardless of how above or below your feet are on the course. Thanks for the comment!

you right, I watch a lot of the child prodigy kids, and all have a flat swing,... we forget a lot of these pga pros are tall, they can get away with steepness, most of us are physically built to be swinging flat. trying to focus on a flatter swing and I'm straightening out a driver that has been draw hook all my life. Now I'm seeing some cut , fade to straight when I shorten up and get a lil flatter.

Mark is a great instructor who can diagnose issues quickly. I drove over 2 hours to meet with him and it was the best thing (best 2 hour lesson) I ever did. My very next time out on my home course which has three par 3 holes on the front (155, 160, and 155), I played those three holes at -2 (par, birdie, birdie) - sticking the two birdie tee-shots within 10'. I played the front at 1 over par. That was an unheard of front 9 for me, a solid 15 HCP player. Unfortunately for me, I moved to Southern California since then. I highly recommend Mark! PS. Hi Mark! Hope you doing well! I'm now working for Titleist and Scotty Cameron at the SC Custom Shop out here in San Marcos, CA.
