Interesting tool. I have always done it by removing the wheel, breaking the bead and fitting the new valve from inside the rim. I'm lucky that I have a bead breaker that I made in the 1970s. This looks far simpler. A late xmas present to me is on the cards I think👍

I already had some of the smaller boxes (the one on the top in the set you got) and they're great. Really efficient space to box ratio. Amazon had the bigger boxes you mentioned on sale for $24 usd each on black friday so I grabbed four of those. They're really nice boxes. Thanks for the upload. 🍻

thanks for the guidance got me sorted!! - I've finally cracked how to use the multimeter after being too scared to try! Also was able to test both old and new sender unit working fine, For me ended up being the cable from tank to dash that was the problem - who knows what happened. Instead I put a length of bell-wire direct from sender to the fuel gauge routed under the carpets and under the dash. Put an inline fuse in. I also rigged up a short cable with spades both ends and plugged directly from sender in my hands toguel guage whilst near the dash - so I could see results straight away.

Another fine video, but again the steering rack is ignored. Access to the nipple is through to passenger side footwell/ firewall and the 'Grease' should be HD90 oil. That's what they put in there in 1951, when my Minor was assembled. Cheers

Good video. Thanks for posting. It was interesting that you had the bolt holes for the front seat belts on your '59 as mine as none of them. The car was a USA import LHD so that might be the reason as only lap belts were required until 1968. I am curious as to why the top hole below the back window was not drilled into the intersection of the pillar and the cross beam below the back window. It would seam that it would be stronger there and flatter. Question, did you put a backing plate in the top hole for the front belts? And if you did, how did you secure them? The video was a little cut off when you were filming that area. Thank you!
@hujiproductions84577 ай бұрын
Thanks for the compliment. The front top and front sill fixings were factory fitted. They started to put them in as the seatbelt laws changed in the UK. The one on the transmission tunnel I made to suit the lengths of the (tunnel) seatbelt fixings. All areas were I made new fixings in the car had the strengthening plates behind them to spread the load on the panel.

@hujiproductions84577 ай бұрын
Thanks, it's an DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Overheard someone commenting negatively on how small the camera was. Little did they know it's capability. It shoots 60fps at 4K resolution and has a gimble built in. Really wanted to get some smooth footage so people don't feel sea sick when they watch the videos.

Nice video, The same day I took my Austin to Gaydon museum for a car show. It was a great show, but due to roadworks for the HS2 white elephant closing my usual pastoral route it was an hour each way on the M6/M42/M40 at 70 mph, very boring. Looks like you had a good day out, shout out to your navigator for videoing and reading the route at the same time👍

have you tried attaching an electric drill to the gearbox end of the cable to determine if it is really a problem at the speedo end? If it is nor and the problem really is at the speedo end, it cannot be too difficult to hard solder( braze a brass extention as you surmised? The braze would cover the split needed to fit the brass bush in place. Do let us know how you get on!

Good Job!!. Very good idea to use the meter to check for leaks 👍I will copy that. I may be an idea to re check the tightness of the nuts after you have used the car for a bit. The gasket can settle and the nuts loosen over time. Getting to the one middle nut is a pain I used a 1/4 drive ratchet with a swivel extension, saved a few choice words aimed at the manifold designer!!!

I'll check them in a few weeks time - using it daily for a while so it's getting a chance to temperature cycle and 'bed-in'.
