What happens afterwards? How do you test if you did a good job? Is the smoke normal when firing new elements for the first time. My graph flat lines and it didn’t ramp up. Smelled like burning and there was smoke inside is this normal? I really wish scutt had not videos. How about diagnostics? What is supposed to be normal? Not enough info in manuals to understand diagnostics 😢

Should I have the plugs in the holes to start? Or add them as the kiln runs?

Is it OK to have a fan blowing at the kiln in the garage ? It seems it effects the temperature rise.

Hello is there a way to set the temperature to 450 degrees and stay there?

Is delay just the word for a hold while the temperature comes down? I'm trying to put a hold on my kiln at 1500 degrees for my bisque but I don't exactly know how to program it in the skutt kmt 1027

I dunno about the design of this kiln, the chimney is directly above the flame, meaning most of the heat will just rise straight out the top, seems like you'd loose a lot of heat unnecessarily, seems a bit inefficient.

The shelf is actually between the port and the flew, causing the ClayDog kiln to act (and actually be) a true up-draft kiln design.

That hole on the top serves an important purpose. You need to look into it and determine when your glazes have melted and are ready to come out of the kiln. Without this top window, it would be impossible to make this determination. The glaze should look smooth and glassy and have melted. Be sure to never look directly into the hole. Rather, watch it from an angle.

Mine looks exactly like this one, but doesn't go through the steps this guy is showing and I don't know if it's working correctly. Thanks anyway.

As far as I know proper firing of chamotte requires temperature at least 1100°C ! Is Raku Kiln that hot inside?
@mypleasure70805 жыл бұрын
Bisque firing has taken place in another kiln, as far as I've heard told in the video
@hollyhendrick53474 жыл бұрын
Yes, most raku fires are between 1700 to 1900F.

The Clay Dog Raku kiln can and will reach temperatures of 2500 deg Fahrenheit if allowed to.
