Great flight ! But aren't you getting water in the motor ?? I would never fly mine when it's raining... Oh well... I guess it's gonna be ok.

@m301678 wow ! I wish I could read German... I'm here in Dallas Texas. I have a Great Planes Spirit 100. I converted mine to electric. Mine weighs 4 pounds. It's a fast "Bird". Keep up the great flying !!

@@scottyreeves8179 Thank you. Correction: There are air intake holes on the side of the fuselage, where the motor is , and air outlet holes under the wing. I only use the motor for maybe 15 seconds at a time, and it does not overheat. All servos are well covered. Good question though, thank you. Link the to the manual, where you can see the details. The auto-ranging capability on that FLIR camera is very impressive, since it's showing significant variation in temperature (color) for objects that probably have no more than 10-15F difference in temperature. Nice camera Adam!

Tough break there Adam. Again, as I've stated previously, it's got to be very difficult to try and gauge where the glider is when you're so far away!
@m30167827 күн бұрын
Fully agree. It is always difficult to land on this small field, because tall trees suround it.
@terryzak1742Ай бұрын
Having a pseudo cock-pit point of view from the wing camera, it's very easy to forget Ada, that you're all of your flying inputs are based on your looking up from the ground - often into the sun. Bravo on your abilities to fly and make it look easy.

Is this a "new" Heron, or footage of the former Heron? Also, the images appear quite shaky in this clip; was this before you got a camera with image-stabilization?
@terryzak1742Ай бұрын
And nice landing!
@m301678Ай бұрын
This Heron's flight was performed yesterday. This Heron has been glued back together several times over 9 years. Conditions were turbulent. I mounted the RunCam camera too loose to the wing. That is why the image is shaky. I will mount it better next time. RunCam is much smaller than GoPro - has no stabilization, but is great for flight operations on small planes. I use GoPro 9, which has great stabilization, for shots on the ground, and occasionally on RC Heli, which usually is a vibrating platform. Thank you very much.

You are of course checking "plumb" in these cases; granted with a "level".

It seems to me that by dabbing and then brushing, that you're not applying enough polyurethane. Most finishes need a little bit of thickness to them to be "self-leveling" and therefore produce a smoother finish. On your respirator/filters, usually the cartridges are kept in a zip-lock bag to extend their life, but I don't think a loose plastic bag like that is going to do anything. Hope your project comes out well!

Add a date 2024.04.13 and location (maybe a geolink so we can look at a satellite image of that site) for better reference. Just a suggestion.

Those Fernco couplings with the hose clamps are great. They're a tremendous help when replacing rusted out cast iron or galvanized drain lines with PVC. I didn't follow why you used the paper towel for the inside of the threaded adapter, instead of the brush in the can? When making up those PVC joints, prime both sides, there is no rush, but when you go to apply the glue, you should work more quickly. Insert and 1/4 turn until the fitting bottoms and then jus hold pressure to keep the pipe from backing out of the fitting. On larger sizes, 3" and 4", the speed is essential. Good job Adam!! Glad you have this project out of the way before the heavy rains come.

...another suggestion, make an under the body mount for your camera and it could be as simple as extending the landing skis to raise it up. Lightweight that could be easily clipped on/off to the skis.
