Yeah a little change of wind that might be a barely felt bump once your aloft can drag your cage. Keep gear down until you've established that positive rate of climb.
@chrisc39983 ай бұрын
You bet. I have watched so many people break props, or even bend their cages because they sat down to soon. Better to keep running!!
@grejen7114 ай бұрын
Thorough! I use a back to front flow and my harness gets way less attention than it should. Checking the frame for cracked welds is also something I don't do specifically. Good one to add! These things do vibrate!
@grejen7114 ай бұрын
Good stuff for sure! Even after a couple hundred landings it's good to hear these things. Just discovered your channel. Subscribed. OWLS is a good landing zone evaluation. Obstacles, Wind, Length, Surface. Even if you're landing from where you launched any of those can change. I landed a bit later in the evening than usual and into a well shaded area of my field. The grass was dewy and slippery! shoulda known but didn't so ended up on one knee and dragged the frame a bit.
@chrisc39983 ай бұрын
Thanks for the Sub!! I like your acronym OWLS!! I will remember and use that one.

Very cool! Thank you. Encouraging me to try for some more altitude. I have been up to 5,000' but I started at 3500 so... :) Highest I've been above the ground so far is around 2,500'. I do love how everything slows to a standstill and the normally 3 dimensional environment you left below is suddenly only two! @13:30 That bright spot on the ground with your shadow in it is really cool. It's something I look for on most flights. One day it'll be on a cloud! I was trained to keep the motor warm on a long descent by running it up every few minutes. Don't want it cooling off all the way down then stumbling or stalling if you suddenly need it for a go around or something. @ 15:50 HA! Of course if you glide all the way to your LZ as nicely as that, a cold motor will not be a problem at all.
@chrisc39983 ай бұрын
For some pilots, they don't enjoy altitude. For me there is something about being way up there and taking in a whole new perspective of the world. A time to slow done and take in what an incredible world we live in despite all of the bad things we read and hear about every day. It is a fresh perspective that life is still good despite the bad. It is how we chose to look at it, and what we choose to do with it:)

My gas tank has a one way blow tube valve, and it’s air tight when you blow in it. But when you tip the motor over on its back, the gas leaks out through it. It’s really odd.

As a horse owner and a PPG pilot. Paramotors and livestock don't mix well. They spook easily and that can be costly in vet bills. Ask me how I know. Best to stay away if possible. My horses have gotten use to it as long as I don't fly directly over them. Looked like a great flight!
@chrisc39984 ай бұрын
@@B_of_NC I agree 💯. Stay clear and coexist happily!!!great to hear both sides:)
@rule1dontgosplat4 ай бұрын
That's one reason I like flying high. A lot of people like skimming fields and that's cool, but in my area you never know if someone has livestock until you're overhead. I typically get to 1000 feet and hang out where I'm less likely to piss people off. Add to it most of my flights are on Sunday mornings, I don't want anyone to get ticked that I'm bothering their church services.
