It looks beautiful as is, those are battles scars which give the watch character and a whole lot of personality. The only reason a watch should be polished is if your going to sell it.

Thank you I just changed the battery on my Longines and was not able to put back the tiny screws...saw that in this video they had not put them back. I did not just placed the plastic cover very well and the watch works perfectly.

Lol, it isn't that old. The gold on the buckle started in 2000, and the engraving on the rehaut started in 2005, so it's less than 20 years old.
