So…. Full honest opinion. Some things I noticed: You did manage to hit him 3 times. You made sure to tell him he is not quick. While he defending aggressively, would you have made that contact if it was real racing? If you paid for the car? Of course in real racing, he may have been penalized, but you need to keep a cool head, keep the pressure on and pressure him to make a mistake. But probably one thing you could have done, is either keep the finger off the mic button, or choose your words better. Pissing off another driver is not how you get them to lower their aggression. If anything, all that will do is make him block out of spite, or worse, crash into you. Telling the guy that passed you that he isn’t fast enough isn’t going to open any doors. I’m sorry but Both of you could have done a lot more to avoid an incident and still race hard. And being you are the one trying to overtake, it’s more on you to do it safely. I’m not saying he is blameless, but you could have employed a bit more race craft and set him up better for a pass. Riding his bumper around the whole track doesn’t let you set him up very well. If you were indeed significantly faster, you could have set up a little behind on a corner going to a straight, carry your extra speed through, and catch him after the exit with all the extra speed you would have had. It’s frustrating being behind someone you feel is slower, a great racer learns to deal with that and race smarter. 60/40 your fault.
@SteelRiverSims4 күн бұрын
Appreciate your comments and you're right about keeping off the mic in heated moments. However you're opinion on it being 60/40 my fault is 100% wrong in my opinion 😂🤷♂️ He moves across to defend then tries to move back when I'm there 🤷♂️ All good though, the difference of opinion is what I love about racing sometimes. I take on board that I can be better in future situations ✌️

I like the simple screen and POV. I wonder if we have been in the same grid? I started this same journey 1 month ago, took a week to get my D License. It's been fun for me after many years sim racing offline to consistently compete with real people. I may put up some videos of what it's like being a rookie in iRacing. I avoid the erratic racers and try to keep up with the faster racers but I'm off the pace most of the time. I agree safety rating is more important than "winning" . Keep it up and good luck.

@@SteelRiverSims yeah you're probably right and tbh the online matching systems works best in lower to mid IR since there's a bigger chunk of drivers, while if you go above say 3.5-4 you find yourself racing with 8-8k drivers (however the pace is maybe not as spread at higher iR)
