after giving IAT exam can i directly get in MS/Phd or 1st i have to do BS/MS then only i can do phd

IAT is for BS-MS degree only. For PhD or Integrated MS+PhD, you have to qualify different exams and interviews. It's unrelated to BS-MS.

I visited this heavenly campus in 2015 when I was in class 9. I participated in Ishan Vikash Sivir which was held for 18 days .I can never forget those beautiful memories .What a campus ,what an environment .Aise campus me agar koi padhega toh uski soch bhi bohot uchi hogi .I wish I could visit this heaven again ❤❤

This is an institute for research in basic science, not an engineering institute. The way things work is different. Placement cell is not a norm. As for the other question, nobody is stopping you from being a data scientist irrespective of the major you have picked. You can always change your field. But I'm wondering, why won't you directly go for BS-MS in data science? Wouldn't that be convenient? Also, if research is not your goal, then an engineering degree may be a better choice for you.

I don't think I can answer that. But we can do a Fermi estimation. IISER Pune usually takes around 250 students each year in the BS-MS program. Assuming similar numbers for each IISERs, around 1750 students are selected across all IISERs (most of them from IAT, a fraction from JEE and other qualifying exams.) Some of them also don't end up joining IISERs. So I guess people need to try to be at least at the top 2000s. On top of that, reservations would make this number smaller.

People who are availing the institute fellowship get paid the same amount as CSIR/UGC/INSPIRE JRF. However, they don't have the contingency grant of 20K each year. {Don't call me sir :) }

Thank you for responding. Lastly is iiser Pune a good institution for joining the humanities department particularly for English studies I recently got shortlisted for the interview I was wondering if I should go or not?
