Blimey, no wonder dealers are going bust - it would seem everyone south of the Thames already has a 'nice' one . . . or three. Here in the post-industrial & strangely brown tundra far beyond the'Hatfield & The North' warning signs, anything that continues to run within sight of cloud cover is considered a novelty. Appearances are seen as anti-corrosive needs, somewhat stunting any attempts at pigmented vanity. 'Polish it? - Plenty left in the parrot cage, help yourself' . . . (Excuse me, t'bondo on the Brough looks dry : )

I have a 02 TDM900 it’s approaching 23 years old now. It’s been stone reliable, it’s had a set of fork seals and I rebuilt the brakes this year, based on age of the seals. Nothing was wrong with them. I do all the work myself including valve shims. It’s fairly simple to work on.

Merry Christmas to you Sir, & may your rear screens remain firmly attached to your orbs back walls. A funny old year, but better to be here with a lifetime driving ban & stuck in a poxy wheelchair, than not being here at all - so please pop a coin in the next MS collecting tin you see - they'll get there one day. May the vast multitudes of good fortune hidden within '25, gang up & infest all those within the 'Dukeries' : )

Meanwhile, far away from the mag-driven crowd, Captain Ether, cunningly dressed as a can of 'Easy-Start' & feeling under pressure, now finds himself a nice clean porta-loo to hide in; sometimes, 'life' really is a gas : )

I filtered past a hundred cars to the traffic lights on the busiest roundabout in Boston( lincs) in rush hour. Pulled in front at the red light and promptly dropped my bandit . Obviously the lights went green. So I had to pick it up. and get it running and get onnit and go with all the furious drivers watching the idiot who had just queue jumped them( in their eyes. I had spent a week doing the whole East Coast of Britain with no incident whatsoever . This was probably a hour from home on the last day. 🫣✌️❤️

I love 70s and 80s Jap stuff, but I grew up with it so although it tickles my nostalgia gland I struggle to think of it as classic. I'm probably not great at accepting change so what was already a classic in about 1979 is still what constitutes classic now 😁❤✌ I love 70s Italian as well, but that's another story 🙂

Whenever I see a pre-war middle or lightweight bike in good, un-restored condition, I often wonder about it's back-story. It's not a high-range catalogue flagship, why wasn't it run into the ground like so many of it's type? Did it's young owner never return, his family cherishing it for years in the forlorn hope that they might? Eleven thousand men went in to Normandy, two thousand came back . . . Many bikes 'stayed young'.

I have often said after seeing the 'show bikes' that there are better bikes in the carpark - at least you know that the ones in the carpark are actually ridden. Motorcycles are things that should be ridden or they are just collections of parts masquerading as motorcycles.

In the UK climate, parking is just a gear change, or at least trying to dry some of it out! ('What are you doing in the car park Marvin?' . . . 'Ohh, I'm jammin' : )
