Only the Lord Jesus Christ can heal those kinds of wounds and make us whole again... too bad that the whole music industry hates God and they do their best to mock, discredit, and blaspheme the only way to true happiness and salvation.

I got to go to Houston, TX when I lived in Spring, TX [west side of I-45] and see Travis Play in a small bar which made watching & feeling him & his Music even more Special! It was a Birthday gift I bought for Myself!!!! I had a necklace that had a Magical Silver Fairy connected to an Ankh. I thru it up on stage. Travis picked it up, He tried to put it on, I didn't expect him to do so at That moment. It would be nice to know that he Did manage to keep it. If not, he at least did have it in his Hand! Before he went on stage I saw him get harassed by the staff for they didn't know who he was. I am Very Thankful Travis decided to Go On With The Show!!!!! I had heard a song from them from the Yellow Album but it was the Song ENEMY on MTV that I was Hooked, That Video was/Is bad Ass. Travis, Do NOT give up!!! You Are the Music and the Music is You!!!

I've seen some of Travis recent social media activity. He's living somewhere in AZ I believe. Apparently he's been clean a minute and focused on that. He was trying to get all his music equipment back, but ran into some problems. But he seems to be doing well.

The whole "not like this" quote also has a mysterious meaning, as if he was in the process of dying. I've done dope, crack, and benzos simultaneously and separately and been around people who needed help but they weren't able to speak. They just start turning blue and struggle to breathe and if they make it, they don't remember anything after taking the shot (or however they chose to do it). I also never heard that Sean, Kris, Inez, and others trying to reach him. Was he already dead at those points? I'd break down a door if one of my friends might have OD'd. I can believe that Mike Starr blacked out for two weeks straight though because taking too many benzos made me do the same. I usually ended up in jail, a hospital, or on my floor with almost no recollection of anything I did during my rampages. I don't condone drugs anymore, but I can say that benzos, meth, and PCP (and even alcohol if I'm going to be honest) are the most destructive ones to the brain and should be avoided in every case.

@@rogue-like4life yeah I don’t think layne was actively overdosing and dying as he said that. I think it was a plea of desperation about their friendship and a subconscious knowing that he might not ever see him again. Or maybe Layne knew that once Mike walked out that door he was gonna shoot up,a mega dose for the last time that was gonna do himself in. But I can’t say since I don’t know fscts about what drugs he had in him and around him . Just fucking sad. And Mike was just in his own world. He was also an addict . I don’t think he really knew Layne was gonna die. Layne had been looking like death for a while. Mike has no fault in this. He was just as sick. i think Layne had been reclusive for years at this point . After being rejected so much , your friends quit knocking on the door so frequently. They still love and care about you. They just know it’s not productive to cone around as much. And it was normal to not hear or see from him for a while and that’s even with them pounding down the door

Not true. There was a small quantity of powder cocaine on the table in front of layne when they found his body. There were also several loaded syringes, one of which was still in his hand as he died. An addict as bad as layne, plus having almost an endless supply of money, would have gigantic quantities of dope laying around his house. He didn't have to go out and steal or sell his soul like the rest of us. Plus he was way too sick to go out every single day to score. I'm guessing he probably picked up enough for a couple weeks or months at a time and just turned himself into a half dead pin cushion. Also, there was $500 in cash found on the floor next to his toilet. Mike could've easily taken all of it if he wanted, but didn't because he knew his friend relied on it purely for survival. RIP to two of the greatest to ever do it

A lot of people think using is a choice. It’s not. There are many variables to addiction, but it most definitely starts from depression and the need to feel better- to have some relief from the crippling constant shit going on in your head! I’m super frustrated with people who have no empathy for addicts. Depression, trauma, anxiety, stress are real and serious and debilitating. It is NEVER a person’s choice to be an addict.

I remember this program and this episode especiallynas I'm an addict also and was in a decent space at this time, guilt and shame are emotions that have to be confronted the fact that we carry them Is in a lot of cases unwarranted some people just punish themselves for no reason, I've seen other people who behave terribly and have no shame or guilt it's a f#ct up thing but ultimately harbouring these emotions can and will kill you... Peace

That's nice they tried to help him....but, can't do much for a body that's been abused with heavy drugs and alcohol for a decade or longer. You can't reverse organ damage, you try to slow down the destruction... Had Mike called 911 - what really could they have done. Prolong his suffering for another few days? It's sad they had an argument. It's also sad Mike had any guilt...Layne had been working on his demise for years

Drugs in the late 80s were good. The shit they we're getting on the street in Seattle was still fairly high quality. I lived this life. I was heavy into coke but never used heroin or a needle. We had a jam house with 2 bands we sold the shit from that house for years. We had a huge circle of friends we would unload 3-4 ounces per weekend in small amounts. Everyone did it. Big party scene in San Diego. We lost a lot of people this way. Coke and alcohol mostly with pills. The guys that just stuck to the snort and beer survived. All the guys that fell into needles and heroin and pills were completely wasted. I started using crack heavy but I got out. I'm 59 now I'm lucky I survived. I was sick from all the partying and drugs alcohol and eating like shit and no sleeping. I crashed at 39. I was sick for 15 years from living that life. I'm still rocking I don't use anything anymore. Some of those guys back in the day just got lost in the shit and went way too hard into darkness and never returned. It's good to be alive.

Oh man, that almost made me cry. I can't even imagine the pain and guilt he had. I think about this with a friend of mine because he was with me when I fell through a skylight on a roof we shouldn't have been on. I had brain surgery, was in a coma for a day and wonder how he would've dealt with it had I died. I've talked to him about it and he looks at it as being blessed he was there in order to contact 911 and save me, so that feels good. But, if it had ended differently I wonder if he could've felt the same way. Man, I really had no feelings when Kurt died but when Layne left I felt it.

I wish people would take these two examples and realize drugs are bad. Even Alcohol. Even Cigarettes. These two were the only addicts in the group and they're both dead, the rest of them are doing fine. Drugs equals earth grave and wasted talent.

I was a huge AIC fan (still am) when Layne passed. I was 16 and found out from my boyfriend at the time and it was just depressing. The way drugs just wipe out whole generations of people is tragic. The people who make and sell these drugs are evil incarnate. Most don’t do the drug themselves cause they see what it does. But money is more important to them than human life. And I’m not talking about the small time dealer, I’m talking about the gangs/cartels/ China who manufacture the stuff and smuggle it into countries. China is now manufacturing xylazine and what usually is made in liquid form they’re making it in powder form so it’s easier to mix in with drugs like fentanyl. You can’t tell me that’s not intentional. Idk, I feel at this point it should be considered a crime against humanity as they’re killing thousands upon thousands of people.
