Darrel, THANK YOU very much for making this step by step video including using the butter knife to remove the contraptions! My refrigerator does not have the tabs and I could not figure out how to get the glass shelf out of the frame after raising my blood pressure just to get the 2 initial clips to release the shelf. Samsung REALLY needs engineers who are practical in their designs. I will never buy another Samsung product.

You're quite welcome, Patty. I shared your frustration and I'm glad my video is helping so many people. Samsung does a great job on a lot of things, but I have to say I'm not in love with some of their design choices on this particular fridge.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Whoever designed this should be made to visit every owner and clean the mess that collects between the glass and plastic over time. I was finally able to remove the glass and clean the accumulated gunk. I could never have done it without this video, but dare I say, I don’t want to have to do it again!

Thank you very much for your video. My refrigerator is 32' but with the same system and the same problem to clean. My wife was pressuring me for at least 4 months to take apart the glass and clean it but since there are no instructions I went to youtube several times without being able to find the correct way until I saw your video. I just mentioned that I used plastic tools like the ones used to take apart cell phones and laptops instead of the knife. Thanks again and greetings from Mexico.

I feel for you, I’m in the same predicament right now - one vid guy said bend down back and push glass up; the only portion that wants to bend is the front section and the glass doesn’t do anything

Glad it helped you! And, yeah, we were able to get it back into place without too much difficulty. I think the key is to make sure the glass is seated all the way back, then pull the front lip down to make it easier to put the glass back in. Note that the glass does have some flex to it, but you still have to be careful to not break it. You might be able to run the front part of the shelf under hot water to make it more flexible. Hope that helps.

Hi, Kim! I think what I recall doing to get the glass back in was to set it as far back in its spot as you can, so you'll be making sure the back of the glass is seated in its place towards what would be the back/rear of the shelf. Then, you'll want to pull slightly down on the front lip which should have the effect of exposing the gap at the front of the shelf and then giving you space to then press the glass back into place. I don't recall using any special tools to do this. Do note that the glass does have SOME flex to it if you need to bend it a LITTLE to get it in place. If you're still having trouble, you might consider putting the shelf by the sink and then pouring some hot water over the plastic to soften it up and allow it to flex easier. I hope that helps you.

Hi thanks for the video it really helped, I wanted to let people know for removing the gray part instead of using a knife, you could use a metal spatula that also works if your are scared to break the glass or the metal. I also had a hard time removing the glass, it was already loose, so I just put warm water and soap in it eventually got in the nooks and crannies of the glass without moving the glass and cleaned it itself if you are too scared to remove the glass and break something.

So as a summary of the video you don’t have to remove the glass since the corners became loose little bit after you remove the horizontal gray part , when you flip it to wash it the water will get under the glass and get drained from the corners❤

Thanks for this video! I will never buy a Samsung again! How could they make me have to do this much work and nearly break the thing when my whirlpool just set in on the top... That's it. Just push up from the bottom and your done. This is rediculous!

Yeah, this fridge has its flaws, for sure, but it's been a good fridge overall. Just stupid design on the glass.
