Did you have to submit your mother's tax info b/c you were a minor at the time you applied? My son will be 19 if/when he applies, so wondering if that would be required of him.

@serenasanders2294 I wasn't a minor when I applied. I was 19 when I first entered job Corp. But to answer your question Yes I still had to provide tax info papers.

I submitted most of my paperwork to my local center in November... I had to finish maybe 3 calls plus more paperwork December 10th... i asked about when I'd be getting my walk-through/date, she muttered something about Christmas break, that it'd probably be January. But she said besides needing to speak to Wellness and Disability Services I'm likely to be accepted. The whole process is very cryptic/confusing, not going to lie. Nothing makes a ton of sense, every time i get off a call with them I'm confused. Its the holiday season so I'm willing to be patient but i am very ready to get the ball rolling.

@ash2xx1 totally understand your frustration. Honestly I've went through something similar! In my previous videos I mention how they gave me a hard time about going to Earle C. my second time signing up. I literally had to fight tooth and nail my way into going because I wasn't taking NO for an answer! I learned this by going to my first one. Your recruiters WILL LIE TO YOU! You're not the only person they have done this too...If your in it. I say say keep calling them or change your recruiter. Make sure they keep all updated paperwork and dates turned in case they make it seem like you didn't turn in any information. Remember names of who you talk to about (updated info) and about your arrival date. Hope this helps 🌻

@TaiGot2MuchTV Oh yea, I asked her if I could go out of state, she hit me with an immediate NO. I didn't feel like raising a fuss because I don't have the money or time to wait. The closest center that does culinary seems like it's pretty run down and is looking for any warm body. The reviews are bad. She kept forgetting to send me paperwork or ask me questions. When I questioned her about my food allergy, "Oh, our dietary staff is great, but I don't know about the chef. We've had vegan students before, though." Definitely not feeling that optimistic 😳 have to wait until the tour to get a good feel for it. It's ran by one of the worst contractors, Human something something.

@TaiGot2MuchTV Gerald R Ford because it's the closest with my trade. It was last renovated in 2010. It's an old high school building from 1915. 3 stars, reviews stating high turnover rates, harassment, lies, mold, rats, bad instructors, etc. It's run by Human Learning Systems.

@ash2xx1 wowwww! This is sad to hear but it doesn't surprise me. 🤦🏾♀️🤣 this is not right on your end! I always would consider job corp as a last resort. I won't necessarily base my situation off luck! But I had to fight for it. They wasn't letting up on me either until they finally gave in. They gave me a hard time even while being there. Alot of them are really not for you! Luckily it didn't take me long to get accepted either. Took me about 3 weeks. I had a court situation too. They did my homeboy the same way (Lied to him) about what job corps he can go too and strictly told him he can't leave Georgia

It's ruthless because a lot of people don't notice but bullying first starts at home. The parents be on the kids top all extra aggressive N shit, then the kids turn around and grow up doing the same thing to others because they were literally "taught" through their "experiences" with their parents to be mean and violent when things don't go therir way.

This is so true when I was at the st louis job corps their was a few guys that I knew in my dorm who ended up getting some girls pregnant and my lord they would be arguing with their baby's mother or the baby daddy evey night so this guy that I was talking to their was trying do it raw with me and get me pregnant but I was smart to say rap it up or no fun at all moral of the story is don't date at job corps because it's too much drama and you go there to learn a trade and get out.

Bullying doesn't have an age limit that's facts and it's worse as an adult because you can't just fight your way out of it without real consequences. You're limited to how you can deal with it especially if you're stuck in a situation where you can't just quit your job yet.

Realized it at around 9years old. Everyone in my family has hood-ish personality's and always listened to rap music and glorified the hood and i was always at the library trying to stay away from everyone and when i was at home id just sit in my room listening to rock music and playing Mx vs atv games (im black) . Always avoided convo with them aswell its just uncomfortable talking to em sometimes.

Do you think they'd help me get an apartment while I'm enrolled in Job Corps to become a non residential student? I'm gonna be 17 so I'd probably co lease with my mom and find a low income apartment. But I'm very serious about it, I don't care if I have to live paycheck to paycheck for a while, I just want to have a space of my own. And obviously I'd be getting a job, I'll work as many hours as I can.

Lol i went to turner in 2022 and they definitely lied to me and told me that they had a pool and they took trips but come to find out that was a lie when I got there i found out that the pool had been down since like 1981-ish because somebody drowned in it but im have been thing about returning

I been in two different job corps and it was ok . First job corps I want to back in 2006 stay there for 7 months but didn't finish the second job corps back in 2008 and complete with a trade in 2010 and I got my driver license cause I already had a high school diploma. The only thing I tell people who want to go to job corps is be yourself and don't let none tell u that you won't make it.

@snaccattac9013 great question! You dont have to get 2 trades. I just chose to do so.... if 2 trades is what you want then you can do that... I also went to a job corps that allowed me to have 2 jobs.... Some centers may not allow that...

Made be when you where going there but when I was there no some of the RA's had us the kids doing thing that made them rich and you got a check for only $850.00 and $600. + or more went to rent for a room you where in with for to five other people and you hada bath room with others then you were charged for food never getting the choice of your pi ck, so you see if you need ro make monwy you had to due what the RA's and big time gang members said.

So weird that this was literally a question in my head TODAY!!! Then your video popped up. Some time into my spiritual journey I would think like why was I kind of promiscuous when I was younger. How can such a young child have certain urges. I’m thinking like SOMETHING had to happen to me. Maybe 2-3 years ago I heard of another family member saying something happened to them by a certain family member that they was around a lot but I lived in the same house as this family member from a baby. I’m thinking this can’t be a coincidence. She’s way younger than me & she never knew about what I was thinking happened to me. That was kind of confirmation for me.
