I worked at Frederick's from '84-'86. She's right, the crotchless panties were a big seller! 😄 They also had edible gels in Cherry, Strawberry and Cinnamon. Cinnamon spice was NOT a good choice for certain body parts! LOL

I love Cynthia! I read all her books we had at the library when I was a teen. Lots of it went over my head due to inexperience. Her writing is so warm and enveloping, like a hug from my favorite human. It felt like she was the cool aunt I desperately needed going through a horrible time. ❤❤❤ I miss her! Total respect forever ❤

As a Michigander, his claim is absolute horseshit. The Keros brothers actually have records in newspapers selling Coney Dogs, which were what they called hot dogs as they named it after their time working for Nathan's on Coney Island in New York using a Greek Meat Sauce usually put on pastas, back in the 1910s. In fact, American Coney Island was founded in 1919, two decades before Art's was even opened. So the timeline just doesn't add up. Not to dunk on him too much, I'm sure he has his place in history introducing them to the Southwest, but, Michigan is actually where they were first sold. So, coastal elites, you may have introduced us a lot of things, but, as for chili dogs, know your place on that front.

I watched and recorded this the night it aired in 1986, rewatching my VHS tape into the ground over the next 15 years. I really wanted Late Night to continue with its annual Holiday Film Festival but suspect that the ratings weren't strong enough. Thank you for posting.

I just finished reading "If You Can't Live Without Me, Why Aren't You Dead Yet" again. First read it 30 years ago. I used to read Heimel's Playboy column once in a while. This is the first time I've heard her speaking voice.

Ahhh, Merrill! If I’m not mistaken, we were introduced by a mutual friend, Ruth, at Motor City - some time in the late 90’s. I’ve always wondered in retrospect if it was really you, or if something got lost in translation in the haze of the days… Anyway, tonight I’m looking for ways to connect with my old self for writing purposes, and thought to look for interviews with Cynthia - and this is the first thing that came up. It’s like a bonus prize/two-for-one! Thanks for this 💙

I've never been to LA and so never have gotten to go to this place, but I sure thank him for inventing chili dogs, they're delicious and so filling for something that can be made pretty quickly and easily when you're tired. And this fellow seems so wholesome, you can tell he loves what he does and was probably great with customers. I'd imagine he passed away since this video, did the place close down? Would be such a shame to lose a family owned restaurant that's been open since the at least the 30s

My father Luigi Divito, an Argentine-Italian immigrant, worked at Two Guys from Italy in 1966. My Dad worked his way from a dishwasher to owning the franchise on Hollywood Blvd. He later became partners with Pippo Calderone and expanded the franchise to Las Vegas, Salt Lake, Arizona, Minnesota, Dallas and the Bay Area. Pippo and my father later started Viva La Pasta restaurants. Fond memories growing up in the restaurant business.

I grew up around the corner from Art's. I would stop by there on the way home from elementary school, Raymond Avenue. The chili dogs were 35 cents then. I can never get my chili dogs to taste like Art's. Smh
