@TheWorldChris so did Andrew Eldritch (the sisters of mercy) who his hatred for goths went as far as to refuse to play with 2 other groups cause their look was "too goth" , to me they are just morons for refusing their own "creation" just so they can play the intellectual type who creates "music" and has nothing to do with "labels" and "goths" , they have no problem packing our money though.

Absolutely BRILIANT! This woman is my hero! Siouxsie And The Banshees blows away most of the rubbish playing on the telly or the radio these days. = ]

Siouxsie's make-up inspired a thousand goth girls....but Siouxsie and the Banshees don t need labels...they have always been quite brilliant...

I really don't like to label music or dress if I can help it..I just enjoy it. Why do we have to go and ruin everything by trying to slap a label on it? Too much pretentiousness if you ask me.

according to my dad, the term 'goth' didn't even come about til after these bands were well established, so technically they aren't goth.

For those of us that lived through the punk period, Siouxsie was the goddess...and johnny rotten was god.
@Emily11129013 жыл бұрын
let us settle this. Siouxie started off punk... then turned more to goth and is known for being goth. k?
@Misikuta13 жыл бұрын
@KevServo this is not fucking GOTH, It's post punk,and all of the band members were punks so fuck off with your goth emo ass labels
@TheWorldChris13 жыл бұрын
@corporatedecay What are you talking about "they need all the fans they can get." They have plenty fans, i went to get see the Cure in San Jose a while back and trust me noone dressed goth at all haha. They have tons of fans that aren't "goth". Have you seen them play in Japan... Anyways, the point is The Cure, Souxsie and the Banshees, etc. go way beyond a "goth" perspective, they have so many vast categories of music one label can't fit for them.
@corporatedecay13 жыл бұрын
@TheWorldChris Perhaps. but artists dont pick their fans. It really doesnt matter what robert smith, or Andrew Eldritch say concering their genre, it has nothing to do with how they are percieved in the eyes of others. And in the end, by giving 'goths' so much grief, they are just being disrespectful to people who actualy enjoy their music, which as an artist is really a big no no. You dont see them toping charts anymore do you, they need all the fans they can get.
@MephProduction13 жыл бұрын
@TheWorldChris True. In fact everyone that guy listed doesn't like be called goth.... The Sisiters of Mercy have even gone as far as kicked out 'goths' from their gigs in the past.
