I’m gonna say how I view this song, it’s mainly for the “you’re growing tired of me” and other parts. I view it as thinking your annoying people when in reality your not, or with the “but it’s just that I fell in love with a war” I see it being the struggles of a therapist friend, for example I’m usually the “therapist friend” and I’m always in the middle of arguments ect trying to fix them. I see it as trying to be on both sides and understanding both perspectives. This is how I view this since all of this are personal experiences.

I get why they'd want to collab with Leon Bridges, but, tbh, his sound has never really been that interesting to me. As such, the melding of him and the band did not yield results anywhere near as interesting and magical as their own material. But that's often how musical collaborations go. Each artist has to sort-of shape their sound and carve out space for the other artist, and the product sometimes just feels like a weird musical compromise.
