I’ve been using that very first knot all my life. Never had any issues. Why change what isn’t broken.

The second look really nice. The last one, palomar is strong knot for main line. But I think I have another, better and even simpler than palomar. I call it knot without knot. You simply make 3 loop inside the ring, you pass the excess under the main line then inside the 3 loop. That's all. You can make some loop for finishing and it's perfect :)

first knot sucks when used on a thin leader, dont use it!

The basic problem with hooks with ears is that the end of the wire is almost always not separated cleanly and has a clear, sharp-edged burr. As a result, any knot with the turns of line wrapped around the hook shaft will sooner or later break as the burr will inevitably destroy the line.

Good for braded lines but not so good for mono. mono line is not good pull thru so many tight knots. it will weaking the line

This kind of video is what makes fishing confusing So many different knots. KISS principle SHOULD be used. Learn only the knots needed eg tying a swivel- loop for light gear and improves double clinch for heavy, a hook knot (with loop on end, or dropper loop, and learn a mono to braid knot or Bimini knot. Chose a knot that is strongest and keep it as easy as this.

I've only used 1 knot my whole life. Never had it break or come loose. I fish for bass, salmon, steelhead, musky etc, and never had a problem.

Do not use the first knot. It WILL come undone.

show us something we dont know. all you did was tie the same knots a different way, be it a single line or double line. and there is about 4 different ways to snell a hook, you have one thing right you can tie a clinch not different ways.
