I had a Halifax credit card and couldn’t pay the last few hundred. Halifax told me I should default when I called for advice. The debt was sold to Marlin who told me over the phone if I didn’t pay up I’d definitely lose my house and my Son would be taken away from me. I considered suicide just to get away from them. This happened back in 2014. I heard nothing until last year. I’d not paid nor acknowledged any debt. I contacted the new debt agency to tell them as it was over 6 years it was statute barred. I also changed my name over 6 years ago and they write to me using a surname that I had previously. Marlin are absolute scum!

In this model of business a motivated and staffed up sales team is as important as production. If they can produce 15k with 3 staff they should hire more staff to make 6 staff team and introduce a healthy competition and better incentive system.
