Does anyone know how to remove the lid and remove the tub to clean ? I’m trying to figure this out and I can’t find any videos on it.

This washer only lasted 4 years for me it worked great until the agitator stopped working. We attempted to take the agitator out but the bolt snapped off. Sooo rather than trying to fix it and having the agitator break again we are getting a new one. Not buying a GE again.

How is somebody gonna do a review on a washer without showing it in action. talk about how loud it is, how long are the cycles, does it clean well? Come on man

What happens when you close the lid? Looks like you'll have a 1-2" opening from the lid not closing.

After four months of using this machine for a family of two, the washer stopped spinning. Found out that no one in western New York will service it. I replaced the locking lid mechanism and the inverter to the tune of 300 dollars myself on top of the purchase price to end yp with a glorified paperweight. GE is absolutely no help. If you are looking for a cheap machine, do not get this. You're better off buying a refurbished unit.

We've had this washer for about a year, maybe less. It goes off balance EASILY, as a few others noted. I have to babysit to keep it from jumping out of the laundry closet. I like everything else about it but that's a pain.

I was curious about the spin cycle, too - underwire bras are badly damaged by the spin on a normal load in this model washer...

Washer fills up and agitates but will not drain nor spin.. and on upper right side panel between tub and cover looks like plug loose ... What is that for

I have noticed this too. This year I've seen birds flying North. There are a few species that have flown north for hundreds of years. I have a theory... Birds fly south generally to escape the cold. Therefore if they are flying North it maybe to escape heat. I wonder if they know the earth is about to be scorned by the sun that is the lake of fire and brimestone the Bible speaks. The word says that the sun smells of sulfer. Sulfer I'd yellow as it burns just like the sun as many worship on Sunday. You don't get spots on your lenses? I put my prescription sunglasses in their and it put all these spots all over my lenses

Any idea what year this model is? I have almost the exact same machine but when I search the model number the results always show way newer models.

Mine is brand new and works the same way. I hope the engineers and designers of this knew what they were doing. Also, is your buzzer really loud? Mine is obnoxiously loud and lasts a long time. Plus, there's no way to turn it down. Grrr.

This isn’t a lid lock bypass. You’re still using the lid lock…..

If you don't want the toxic softener smell coming out of your dryer while drying your clothes you can use vinegar. it will mix with your detergent, just make sure you have a little water in the tub and put your detergent in and let it mix before you put your clothes in. FYI.

Are you supposed to use detergent on the pure cycle?

I have this exact same washer. Kenmore Heavy Duty 70 series. Model #11082872820 serial # CA0921857. Was trying to look up what year it was. I think it’s a 1991 or 1992 not sure, but its still ticking and getting the job done. It’s about a 30 year old washer. I’m gonna cry the day it finally breaks down. I don’t want a brand new washer. This one is the best. ❤️❤️❤️

How do you remove the agitator

STAY AWAY from this incompetent machine. It's been a complete disaster, lousy at cleaning, flimsy, noisy, with terrible reliability. How this ever got out of the development phase is beyond me. Heavy loads do NOT get clean, amBIGuity is right...the inside of the agitator gets FILTHY very quickly, and the electronics are an abomination. I tried so hard to be gentle with this machine and still it's failed on numerous occasions, with error codes flying like confetti. Truly the most incompetent appliance I've ever bought. We dumped it and bought a Speed Queen TC5003. Very old school, professional grade machine. We love it. It's not perfect (needs a dual action agitator), but strong in washing performance and built like a tank.

All the comments on newer washing machines are good for parts sales on older machines. Wife wants shiny new. I want something that works. Not that hard to work on a washing machine. And parts are less than half the price of new machines that don't sound like are half as good. Parts Select has fairly good repair videos. Other parts suppliers have better prices. Timer on washer and dryer have issues and they are $100 cheaper than Parts Select elsewhere. That got the repair price down enough to make since to me. I can probably fix our washer and dryer for $400 in parts and have better machines. Over 20 year old technology seems better than what is offered today. Sad. I might even toss the wife a can of spray paint. Lol

I don’t want to be a downer, but to me that was a bit overloaded. I also have the new Samsung with the agitator and I’m very pleased with it, works very well uses more water than I expected, which makes me surprised and happy.
