I cant believe how many clothes you are taking for such a short trip. That bag would not get past UK check in, if it weighed more than allowed they would put it in the hold. Also if it didnt fit in the measuring cube it would be a no go. If your going somewhere hot? why are you taking Tights? stuffing stuff in those zips wont last, how are you packing it to come home? do the allow bits you buy while on your vacation where are they going on the way home. i wish you luck but i think there will be tears, sorry

Carefull when you do insect spray. Some essential oils can be photosensitive. I think you would be fine with 2 bathing suits and 2 water shorts or biker shorts. Way too many trousers/dresses. 7 days is like 3 shorts, 1 pant and 2 dresses 😊 Also you should try roll your clothes and compression cubes. Trust me they are lifesavers. Last time I flew Spirit, they were strict! Backpacks had to fit in their measuring cube and no other personal items or bags were allowed. Hope you had fun on your trip! The video was very entertaining and you gave me some cool ideas!

First of all, I think you’re awesome as a mom traveling to PR with your kid’s backpack! 😂 Because I’m a mom of 3 with the same trip booked on Spirit thinking of doing the same thing. Probably way overthinking things for my solo travel, reading about dimensions and “onebagtravel”. Prior to this, I’ve flown back and forth to Orlando several times with the kids on Delta, Spirit, and Frontier. With the low-cost carriers, we wayyy overpacked my daughters LL Bean deluxe backpack to the point zippers almost broke & brought it as a personal item. No way that thing could have fit underneath the seat. On the way back also had giant shopping bags from LegoLand and the Disney store. No one batted an eyelash. My 2 girls each brought a Loungefly, I had a crossbody disco bag, plus a regular size backpack. And a large BOB jogging stroller. So yes it seems they are lax with the item restrictions. Equally possible, gate agents just don’t want to deal with a frazzled mom. Either way, I’m packing a slightly larger bag for my PR getaway but setting aside the bag fees as “trip insurance” in case they happen to stop me.

I’ve been flying spirit for a long time and they’ve never checked the size of my bag until recently in Miami. They made everyone put their bag in the measuring apparatus, so be ready!

I thought per their website you get a carry on too.

I don’t do this simply because I don’t like the way it looks, and reason I don’t like the way it looks he has thin hair and so do I and when I do that, I can see my own scalp but it does look better on him it just looks aweful on me.
