So, why can't I order an X1E on the bambu website?
@CHEEBnRUNКүн бұрын
because Bambu isn't able to offer enterprise level support. When you buy the X1E from a reseller, all warranty, tech help, and repair issues are handled by the reseller. Probably the reason for the high price.

Why is every X1E video so absolutely awful at telling me the difference between the X1C and E? You don’t mention a heated chamber until 15 minutes in?? When asked directly about differences you went with “it’s a slightly different color” until waaaay later in the video. You also don’t bother to mention the other differences that I only find from reading articles elsewhere.

Hi, thanks for the presentation. Do you know if TPM allows liquid resin diluted in it (from successive washing sessions) to cure when the clear container is exposed to UV light? In order for the resin to precipitate as a "gooey blob" that one can separate and filter out afterward, hence recycling the cleaner. Because while IPA does allow this process, some (but not all) commercially available resin "detergents" (solvents) often prevent it.

look i know this would be overkill for an enthusiast, but how would this handle dnd miniatures? Would they be able to print pretty quick if theyre smaller?
@Shop3Dca3 ай бұрын
It'd be amazing for DND figures but it is a "bit" overkill. That being said, lots of opportunities to go beyond DND figs and the workflow is a lot cleaner than hobby printers due to the fact that a lot of the processes on the Form 4 are automated. Since there is a new lighting unit on the Form 4, it would take the same amount of time to print a full build plate or a partially filled build plate. An average size DND figure should be printed pretty quickly.

@@PolycultureArt "Musical taste of an ashtray" ... you must be from my family tree. And you are correct, I should have been more diplomatic. The reason I mention it is because almost everyone I know that is in content creation or is an "influencer" (I hate that word/concept) has the same opinion regarding this kind of music (invariably everyone calls it Casy Neistat music). It is incredibly overused and is, as a colleague calls it "the equivalent of Photoshop's lens flare filter that was on every old 90s Geocities/Angelfire site". Sort of reminds me of gaming channels and Dubstep, even young kids admit they hate it but they use it because it pisses people off (apparently upsetting people is what they think being "edgy" entails, and then they wonder why they don't have any subs.)

@7:36 "Sending print job through cloud service..." - this would have been an opportunity to highlight the offline-operation mode of the X1E - a supposed selling point. Any chance you might consider doing a follow-up video with a completely offline print, and the tradeoffs to be made in that mode? Other than that missing bit, I thought your video was very informative with a lot of great hot end info!

the X1, P1 series both all of an offline mode.. You can operate all of those machines in a lan only mode (so no cloud functionality but you can still conenct with your printer while being in the same network. You can also just go back to the good ol' times and use the SD card or so.
@nelsoncabrera64644 ай бұрын
@@Silidor372 The A series also has offline mode and one nice benefit of "LAN Mode" that I've noticed is that transfers to the printers are faster. The A series is fairly slow when downloading from the cloud because of the https encryption which I believe is not used in LAN mode (but I'm not 100% sure, it might just be that LAN mode is less taxing to the M4 cpus since there is no need to spin up a https client). I'm not sure if the dual core Cortex M4 model that is used as the application processor have hardware cryptography acceleration.

after doing a firmware update I was able to get the lan only mode working, this should have worked with the shipped firmware version, so needed to be online with an account at least once to get the update to work off the internet, not sure why you can't start a print from bambu studio of a print stored on the SD card in lan only mode, maybe another firmware update and that will be fixed.

I wisely purchased a pair of 0.4mm and a pair of 0.8mm nozzles with my S3 and I totally agree with your conclusion. Installing both sizes simultaneously shortened my print times considerably and as you rightly said, the finish was not adversely affected, on the intricately detailed aspects of the parts I print, using ABS AA04 filament. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience, it's all put to good use. I've always maintained, I've learned more on KZbin than I ever did in college! 👍

It's nice having the convenience of NFC filament identification, but that alone dramatically increases the price of Ultimaker filaments, as opposed to the alternatives. I remove the NFC labels and temporarily applied them to other non-Ultimaker filament reels for quicker changeovers. 😉👍
@Zodliness6 ай бұрын
I recently purchased a pre-owned Ultimaker S3 and had my first experience performing a hot pull to clear out one of the nozzles, I was surprised at how much old filament remained in the extrusion head, so I repeated both hot and cold pulls a couple of times, after which both nozzles have remained functional. It was remarkably easy with the intuitive built-in step by on-screen instructions. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. 👍

I just got the X1E and am happy with the machine itself. There are 2 areas where the customer experience could be improved. The first is that I cannot get the discount “club” pricing on Bambu filament because it requires a code that you can only get if the machine is purchased from Bambu directly … the X1E requires purchasing through a reseller. The second is that tech support needs to go thru the reseller as well so you can’t go straight to Bambu on their tech support system. I tried my reseller’s tech support on 2 different issues and they did not even return my calls. Fortunately the self help ecosystem with Bambu is phenomenal and I could address on my own issue. I should note that my reseller was not this channel’s sponsor and was based out of Los Angeles since they were my closest vendor.
@BlondieSL7 ай бұрын
For me, those things are DEAL BREAKERS! What a silly decision Bamboo has made to not allow PAYING CUSTOMERS to call support directly! JUST SILLY! As is with your experience, it's clear to me that a "reseller" just wants to SELL the product and not actually SUPPORT it, without $$$$. The other silly thing is not being able ot get the club discount. That should just be included inside every printer sold!!! They want people to buy THEIR filaments, but then make people jump through hoops. *DEAL BREAKERS* Add to that, that they way their printer changes filaments constantly through a print and creates LOTS of waste, is also a major DEAL BREAKER! Sure, there's an option for it to use the filament, during changes, for infill. But that too has its limitations. The other huge deal breaker is that it's all closed and not open. I do not like being locked into someone's product where you have no choice to buy parts and supplies from them. We already know that companies, especially ones that do silly things and/or have silly policies, often go out of business. Then what does a person do when they need something. It's too bad that for their color production, that they don't use a 4-to-1 filament director. This is where the 4 filaments enter their tubes (metal) and the tubes join to where the nozzle is. When a color is chosen, the one color just detracts up, while the next color is pushed right down. There's a printer that uses this, but I think that they only have the 2-color setup. To save waste, not only does their slicer have the option to use filament for infill and supports, but an option that tells it to just print without purging at all. So yeah, this Bamboo stuff is a no deal here.

Thanks for the video. I'm wondering about a few things, how is Bambu doing with data security when printing, I've heard that users are getting connected to other printers' cameras, their creations are appearing on different servers. I've also heard that Bambu has a problem with huge waste material when printing from multiple colors, and long print times for more complex projects. Maybe it's not true, but considering the country Bambu comes from and the fact that the whole company is shrouded in secrecy, I have no confidence. @GatlingNG7 ай бұрын
Both bed slingers such as Ender 3, Prusa and CoreXY printers like the Voron or Bambu X1 are Cartesian. They use X, Y, Z (Cartesian coordinate system) to determine the movements of mechanical parts: the print head and the bed move according to the coordinates. A different type of commercial kinematics system are Delta printers such as the Flsun S1.
