The one that got away, I had Ridge Racer 1 for all my youth on PSX, I've never been able to win the devil car. Nowadays I don't have the skill to try it anymore, I guess this will never happen for me.

I'm now wondering if the developers behind Rapid Racer as well as Rage Racer even realised that these demos were in fact beatable (beatable in the sense of either not losing by time limit or not getting a 'game over' screen upon crossing the finish line). I wonder this because the developers of a given game are never actually amongst the very best players at it.

Tempted to have a go at this myself, as I pretty much mastered the full version of the game back in the day, but was obviously just a rookie at the time of having only played the demo. At any rate, this was definitely an interesting find in my revisiting of classic PS1 demos!

The one thing I hate about the Saturn port is they have characters that are crucial to the story. Cupido for example, never existed outside of Playstation but she and Sho eloped and have Subaru Shinjo (Although, they made it ambiguous when Sho handed Subaru over to Eiji by never mentioning Cupido in Toshinden 3). Ripper, Cupido's brother is also an important character as he is the hero in Toshinden URA.

I don't know but I think this game is cooler than you expected, the great one. You can maneuver unexpectedly and dodge swift attacks or get hit. If you finish it, it is just relieving. Pick your character.

Volcano Russo was so underrated and so skilled. His speech dash was so useful when it comes to confusing opponents and that always helped you win, he was one of the best players if you knew how to use him

Everytime I see these Ridge Racer playthroughs, I always notice that every single Player only starts drifting right as they enter the corner instead of starting to drift earlier and slide the car around the corner much easier.

I would've prefered using the Drift-focused cars. Grip racing in Ridge Racer just looks... wrong.

The controls were a little clunky, but could easily be refined, the characters are interesting and has great music, which is the important part. I want to see a Toshinden 4.
