Atleast 3 of these guys are great singers i their various ranges. Now, Paul Williams...aaahhh! He's my fav because he shows his actions in his dance and facial movements. I also biased because I'm also SCD warrior. I can imagine the pain that he endured during that era. He would have dulled the pain with heavy alcohol intake and drugs creating an addiction.

This performance goes to show you that nothing is new under the Sun. Rap music was introduced in 1979? Let's say 11 years earlier, in 1968. The Rap culture was the musical thief culture inside/out.

He could have been a solo artist on his own. He sang better than David Ruffin.

One of my greatest life experiences was meeting Bo Diddley in person. It was at a concert in the 1980s. The show had been poorly promoted, and only a few dozen fans came to a theater that held maybe 500 seats. After an opening set by the backing band, Bo came on stage and surveyed the audience, and he looked and sounded pretty upset. However, he did not let that interfere with his performance. "There ain't more than a few of us here," he said, "but tonight we're gonna rock the house like there's 10,000. Because I ain't up here imitating anybody. I AM The Originator." And then he played an absolutely killer show, driving the small crowd into a frenzy. Afterwards, his manager invited the whole audience to come backstage and meet Bo. I shook his hand, we exchanged a few nice words, and he gave me his autograph, which I cherish to this day. He was one of the greatest artists and innovators that the USA has ever produced. No doubt...Bo Diddley put the rock in rock and roll!

They be giving the beatles credit for changing music, but all they did wa copy the groundwork laid by Black Americans. This man was totally original with a new Funky beat that created a new style of rhythm and blues, yet got no recognition; Ii seems to me that white skins are still more likely to get glorify even for groundwork laid by people of color. Shame on yall;

I remember all of these programs from back in the day especially when Paul sung For once in my Life. He was the first voice I heard in the Temps. Even when David came in I still was in love with Paul he was always my favorite and Eddie. Paul can "sang."

I have been listening to the temptations now for 50 plus years and because I didn't get to see and listen to the original members at the beginning I missed the talent of Paul Williams. Now that I am rediscovering the early years of the group, he was a tremendous voice that I am now appreciating more each day!😊😎

I think it is unhelpful to debate which Temptations member had the best voice. Each singer had a different style and range: Paul's voice was rich and solid; Eddie's was light, airy, and angelic; David's was raw and commanding; Otis' is fluid; Melvin's was a deep barritone: Dennis' was powerful and diverse and the other members all had distinctive styles. Each man sang well and contributed to the group's towering legacy. I personally do not have a favorite; I enjoy their music and feel grateful that they blessed us with their impressive talents.
