Fu**in genius. Everything kept simple, not complicated just good simple and not over thought, or over cooked. This man is sadly missed.

Always a big fan of Floyd - great TV back in the day, so good to see the pilot. Have to say though, from my now home in the Basque Country, his version of Marmitako, kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmPLl2BphJZ3otk, cooked on a boat off the coast near San Sebastian, was a complete dog's dinner! As an aside, endless TV cooks have made their way through Spain putting their "twist" on the recipes they just watched being cooked in awe, (why bother?) and all to the soundtrack of Flamenco. Outside of Andalucia, It's like expecting to see and hear Morris dancing in Glasgow!

Keith Floyd opened the door for tv chefs but none of them can hold a candle to his style and artistic flair.

What a treasure! Thanks for posting this in full! I've only seen parts of the episodes. Could you please post the others in this series and the later series 'Floyd on Food' (1986)?

This was filmed mostly in Plymouth, my hometown. The fish market was open to everyone back then including the public and it took place every morning on the Barbican, Plymouth. The Chinese restaurant you see at the end was Plymouth’s only Chinese restaurant at the time and it was called The China Garden. It was one of my Late Father’s favourite places to eat and he would often come from his showroom in Plymouth as he was one of the first in the city to own a UPVC window company known as Wunderplas Windows and he would arrange to meet my mother here and she would bring my brother and I with her and as small children my brother and I would have a Chinese pancake roll and a banner fritter with ice cream and golden syrup for dessert. This was in the late 70’s and the Chinese guy in the grey suit eating here with Keith was the owner and he was always there, always wore the grey suit and always came over to say hello as he knew my father very well… I’m 54 now and this was when I was around 7 or 8 years old and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
