The reason there is no shadow is most likely because Unreal doesn't calculate the shadows for an object after a certain distance. Shadows, even without any ray tracing, are extremely expensive to calculate. For this reason, a lot of games tend to try to minimize the shadow calculations by putting separate distance limits for shadow casting, and in the case of low graphics settings or automatic graphics downgrading because of lag, shadows may be turned off altogether. I'm not sure which it is, could be both. Another explanation is that the sun light emission instance is within the giant box you made, which would make it's shadow effects null and void anyways.

I tried doing this before 1.0 during a regular game with no mods. Just regular 10 at a time zoop. I had to keep running back to get more concrete. I gave up after about 4 hours. I didn't even get the grasslands covered.

@ Still not in the remastered version. The only moves that you can do in the remastered version is exactly the same as the original. In TR3, you can sprint.

I believe that people had more time to play games back then because there weren't as many games as there are now. Therefore, people would spend longer to figure out where something goes.

@ I changed over to the original graphics and the spots on the wall are more obvious. They look like the things you pick up. They do in the remaster graphics too, but they are darker and blend more into the wall.

@@solonepeon5805 as far as I know, they didn't. Sometimes the triggers can be bypassed by jumping over them in certain ways, could be that you accidentally did that.

Hey, just a few suggestions for getting more views on videos: Try to edit out every spot where you're not speaking, even if it's just a few seconds. If you aren't speaking, have theme music as replacement sound. And have everything you say scripted so that you don't take up time thinking of what to say. BTW, I'm not trying to judge your content creating and I really like the topics your videos focus on- have a nice day!

Thank you, I appreciate the suggestions. I will admit that I wasn't too sure on the best way to do this video, but in hindsight, your suggestion of having a script is much better. I've got some video recordings done for another video and I'll take your suggestions on board and create a script for it. This new video isn't as long as this one so the script should be easier. 15:15 if you don’t hit that switch and jump into the water, then I hope you have another save before it lol cuz u can’t progress. You’ll have to start the level over lol I moved the block only to the right side of that platform instead of the left as well and jumped down into the water and thankfully had a save prior to it!!!!

That switch is only for getting the secret, you can complete the level otherwise.

I softlocked myself by entering the water room that floods from the wrong direction so had no way out, gave up after that long struggle and used the speed run tricks

i found the first secret i think i’ve gone by the area to get the two i’ll try and go back.On the first secret when you look down there are two rats with human legs😱 which i found no way of getting down to so i take it the 3rd secret must lead me there.

@@Rekoyl116 it's a timed run. You have to run exactly where I did from 6:15. You'll notice the different textured floor tile at about 6:15, that starts the run.

Lighting is so different pre patch. Why change it too dark now, ykyr ballroom is wonderfully lit,,ore-oatch or mod. Thank you for showing me how to kite them. I was not as fast as you on pickuos so had no healthpacks until the first barrage died amd I went up to fetch them. Last trophy for platinum

Thanks for the video, I couldn't get past the blades and I thought I was doing something wrong. But I saw you made the jump and I successfully did it too. Btw I did the shortcut only to play the hole level since I missed pressing the button on the ledge at the beginning of the level. I feel so stupid

You don't have to press the button at the beginning, where the rolling blade is. This technically is only so you can get the 'unreachable medipack' without having to backtrack a lot. You can press it at the end when you get to that area from another direction.

I tried to be a smartass and used the smuggler key first, entered the village then reloaded an earlier save and collected the rubies to open the gates. I didn't get the achievement for the second one. Some players reported that you don't get this achievement even if you don't use the key at all. It seems collecting the key voids this achievement by default so it looks like you have to play through at least twice to collect both achievements.
