How can you describe the AVM sound to other amps? I have the chance to buy an AVM Competition and am curious how it will influence my sound. I really like clear and strong trebles and highs, punchy bass but not dominant and a very detailed and analytic sound.

My first one is bought new in 1994, still alive and well, once recapped (the small ones, not the big slit-foil types). Used it for 25 years in my first system. I recently bought a second one, badly maintained and repaired, made it „as new“ with a lot of cleaning, changing many parts, measuring, fitting transistors. Technically 100% in perfect shape. Now I have two in my second system with a pair of small Mordaunt Shorts. Guess what. One for each channel! 😂😂 Still love it, great! What a sound, what a feeling for music!

@@sarabarabu-mq1ci I use old Plextor external cd/dvd burner. Always on low speed 2x or 4x. The external drive has more cushioned chassis.

@@jorozan the problem is computer CD writes are not capable burning Red Book CDs, only few models from Plextor and one from Yamaha can, as i recall all 3 models were IDE which is obsolete by now and in case of Plextor's gear that i own it demands that propitiatory Plextor's software is used, always was so much of a hassle i gave up eventually regret did not invest into Sony DAT 2000 at the time

These were the speakers that came with my setup I purchased in March of 1986 not the white Technic Speakers but the black ones…the sound …AMAZING miss my system

Brilliant amplifier. Had mine since 1990. Been back to the factory twice. Once when I blew a channel by shorting the loudspeakers and it's also had a service.
