Stringer in saltwater is asking for a shark to bite the kayak we dont mess with the bull sharks here in aus they will take a bite out of the yak then its game over haha. But on a more happy note well done on the mods if i can give a tip before you just bolt everything on take it out for a paddle a few times and feel if it works for you and what els you need people get carried away adding mods by the time you know it you spend 1000 in mods take it out and realise its not working or it annoyes you so yea less is more also its easier to transport and clean but go with what makes you happy good job and keep up the good work sir👍

I have a lifetime, just enough for me to handle. I’ve learned a lot and started modifying last year. I’m running a minnkota traxxis 45, Bro Craft mount, 100ah lithium battery. The front has a 6 switch control panel with a 7 in cv plus powered by two small lithiums The motor shaft is being cut to 28 in. It went straight from the manufacturer to the shop. It will be ready by next week! I’m so excited! Bros! A 45 on a 60 lbs kayak!

New subber here bro in VA. I have the same exact lifetime tamarack. Ive had it for 3 days. Paid 335 for it pluse a couple hundred in upgrades. I hope to float test tomorrow on the lake. I've never floated on anything but a tire tube lol ..... So are you happy with the stability? Any gripes with anything I should look out for? Thanks for the video. What go-pro do you have?
@upstatenyliving9501
@upstatenyliving9501 Жыл бұрын
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this kayak. I think the go pro I used was my Hero 9. The stability is very good. Weight limit I think is 250-275 and I’m 200 lbs. plus with the weight of the battery and all of the accessories I have on it I’m pushing probably 230ish on it and it floats very well.

#1. THANKS for your SERVICE !!! #2. Sounds like you got a GREAT WIFE !! #3. Looks like you have done your homework / research / fantastic job with ALL your mods & accessories + you're now ALL SET for the upcoming FISHING SEASON. Looking forward to your NEXT VIDEO after you get on the water & test out everything!!!!! Some minor suggestions might be to: add seat risers (only if you get uncomfortable on long days) * put a hatch in the front area to access the interior of the hull for battery storage & distribute weight more evenly ( I recommend a hinged hatch not the screw in style - along with a nesting internal dry storage bag) * lastly use Velcro/ tiny strong magnets to mount some small hinged storage containers (the lids won't get lost) on each side of gunnles near handles and/or under seat ( such as cheap pencil box / soapbox) for the convenience of changing out lures and bait and or letting items dry out therefore avoiding rusty hooks & lures getting nasty and you can drill tiny holes in them to increase air movement / dry out time. Now you will really be "squared away" I hope my "two cents worth" was beneficial to your endeavor ? BTW I am a fellow Vet, now retired of 23 years of service & 3 desert tours. Also, instead of using a bunch of "dummy chords" to lash everything down on the kayak, you could also use pool noodles and/or zip ties to temporarily secure things or keep them afloat. There are ONLY 2 TYPES of "kayak fishermen" in the world : those that HAVE fallen in, and those that have NOT FALLEN IN YET !!!! L0L crazy boat wakes on the lake & rogue waves in the ocean can really catch you off guard sometimes and I hope you always wear your life jacket , the only thing that can NOT be replaced during kayak fishing is YOU, be safe & MOST OF ALL HAVE FUN, I even have great days when I don't catch any fish, it's just so nice to be out there and observe cool things and interesting wildlife that just happened in nature. If you were deployed "welcome home" and God bless you and your family !!! PS and depending on your financial situation... IF & WHEN you ever decide to upgrade to a larger kayak you might want to consider an electric trolling motor with pedal steering but you will have to register your kayak with the Boat Commission ( the entire process is a dad pricey and takes some time to complete everything) PSS : I use a piece of pool noodle on my spinning rod ( above the reel & below the largest eye, cuz sooner or later you're going to go in the drink , it will helps keep rod afloat without the use of a dummy cord. It really helps when S.H.T.F. cuz eveything happens SO DAMM FAST and ALL YOU'RE THINKING about is being able to BREATHE & staying ALIVE :-) GOOD LUCK & HOPE TO SEE NEXT VIDEO SOON. ! ! ! ! !!!!!!!!

Lots of Great ideas! (Esp the ‘scupper plugs’ WITH bungee Ha! I’ll be doing that Today! I’ve had to turn mine over few times to push balls out whn stuck) **Question.. Do u hv any bottom protection like for hull/keel? Or the entire bottom? I’ve only taken mine out a few times, bn very careful But somehow still got some minor scratches.. I’ve seen vids on different things from spray on truck bed liner to ‘gorilla tape 🤦‍♀️’.. Any thoughts? I’d really like to do something for the underneath for preventative & peace of mind~✌️💕☺️ & #HappyYak’N

Great video. I did a ton of mods to my Lifetime kayak (I have the non-angler version). I love that kayak with all of the mods, it is quite rugged and very stable. I've had it in major waves at the beach in Florida and also on many rivers. But after all of that I broke down and bought a Bonafide EX123, which has a hull shape that cuts the water. Depending on the situation, each boat has its own use. Thanks again for the great ideas in your video!

Hi can you make a video showing how to attach the wheels so you can transport the kayak to the water
@upstatenyliving9501
@upstatenyliving9501 3 жыл бұрын
The wheels came with a strap that just goes around the kayak when you want to use it. When it’s not in use, I just keep it by the crate with a bungee cord. The strap just wraps around the kayak like a belt.
