Oh, how I love this early stage in Joni 's folk music days. Wonder if she ever kept that beautiful pink dress that she is wearing here? I used to love that dress. She was just new, hadn't been around too long yet in the music business and she looks sort of like a fairy princess in this lovely dress.

The Band were really struggling with the rhythm and tuning of the song during rehearseals, but they nailed it ....

You should be proud for covering one of the finest artists' ever!e He was my first musical mentor and dearest friend! He personally taught me about life, his music, also the heart and soul that went into creating it! He watches us that were fortunate enough to get supremely close to him.. He would have liked your rendition of his music! Bless you for understanding how important his early work was to American Culture From That Time.. Thank You From Both Of Us.. 🌹💫🧡💫🌹🧡❤️🌹

How does someone begin to write a song like this. The Tuning, Phrasing, her bouncy feel with difficult feel just oozing out. Try singing this while playing. Its tough, but inspiring. Song would have been the same without the Band. Its just so good.

Can you imagine living in a old shack house is Laurel Canyon in the 60s and having Joni and David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young and Cass Elliot and Frank Zappa ... on and on, so many more musical greats ... geniuses and they were just people who hung out together and met in their yards and sang and played their new songs. The song Joni is singing here is in transition. It is very different than the song we are used to hearing. It was just a hotbed of ideas and musical invention. No one person making music like the next person. It must have been amazing.

First semester in college in 1973 my girlfriend from New York City told me, “There’s this song that says everything I feel about our relationship: All I Want by Joni Mitchell”. I had the album “Blue” so I knew the song. And I wasn’t sure how I felt about a song with "I love you some, I hate you some" in it representing our relationship. Next semester my new girlfriend, from just north of NYC, told me, “There’s this song that says everything I feel about our relationship: All I Want by Joni Mitchell”. I was kind of dumbfounded, what were the odds? That summer I was in a relationship with a woman from Long Island. She told me, “There’s this song that says everything I feel about our relationship.” I said, “All I Want by Joni Mitchell.” She exclaimed, “How did you know?”

This movie, and for me, this performance in particular, really shows off the Band's musical chops as they manage to sound like the world's greatest backing band by sounding good while playing with artists from across the rock/pop/blues spectrum
