Elvis is one of my favorite artists but I do like metal and horror and I feel like people don’t see each subgenre of metal like a subgenre of horror NWOBHM- Monster Movies Thrash- Slasher Films Death Metal- Splatter Black Metal- Possession Movies Doom Metal- Macabre Movies

As a fellow Buffalonian; why does his accent sound so familiar, yet so Walken-esque at the same time?

Could it be that listening to death metal is doing shadow work? Not that any metal fan would remotely have this type of repressed violence but going this extreme by default would acknowledge any darkness in our mind.

One of my favorite quotes from Alex. I remember this interview from the making of the wretched spawn. And his last statement about censorship was just hilarious to me. Elvis gyrated his hips and we sing about eating people lol.

This has been on my mind for a while now, but what I find interesting is that Alex Webster is in a band with song titles such as "Stripped Raped and Strangled," yet he comes off as very pleasant. Compare that to R-Kelly who wrote I Believe I Can Fly, a song that was played all over kindergarten graduation ceremonies, yet R-Kelly is way worse than any of the guys from Cannibal Corpse. Now obviously not every metalhead is as cool as the guys from Cannibal and not every pop fan is as insane as R-Kelly, however what you should take away from this is that you shouldn't judge people based on the music that they listen to. I also want to see Corpsegrinder fight R-Kelly.

One good thing about music is, when it hits, you feel no pain - Bob Marley.. ...just saw Cannibal Corpse at The Observatory...on the way to the show...I was listening to The Grateful Dead...after the Show...I was still listening to Cannibal Corpse lol. 3 days later...my ears are still ringing...and I just feel...more calm.

That is so true!!! Narrow minded people don't get it. That's why quite a few of them explain death metal is bad only because they don't like it. When I first time saw a short live piece Cannibal Corpse performing in Germany - I think the year was 1994 or so- in the MTVs Headbanger's ball, then I was like:'what the hell!!! No one plays or sings like this 😶😃 This is so fucking awesome!!!'.

"You're turning something negative into something positive by making it into music instead of actually going out and doing something violent." That falls a little flat considering that one of Cannibal Corpse's guitarists assaulted a police officer with a knife last year and is facing decades in prison for burglary and assault.
@liamtheproducer4 жыл бұрын
Good point, I would just say I dont think he did that because of his love of death metal, or his connection to metal or playing in the band, I think he did that because there was somthing wrong mentally with him, if he was in corpse or a lead guitarist for justin bieber I think he may still have done what he did. To blame death metal or any music or art for irrational actions from anyone I think misses the point of what is actually wrong with said person. That's just my 2 cents tho.

@@liamtheproducer Could any bad behavior be caused by death metal, or by any kind of art? Does art not have some philosophical component which can influences followers of said philosophy?
