Is it just me, or is telling people "we're trying for a baby" a bit weird? It's like saying "yeah, so I've totally been sticking it to her without wrapping my tool on the regular". I mean, obviously you're in a relationship and the assumption is that sex is going on, but it just isn't something you normally go into so much detail about with family and coworkers etc. I'd feel suuuuper uncomfortable telling my girl's parents this.

Why would you tell anyone, even your parents, at only 4 weeks? That's strange, usually people wait until their at least 3 months where the danger of miscarriage is just about over. That way people won't feel sorry for you if you lose it.

It's scary to tell your father-in-law your wife is pregnant. Because his first thought is, "I'm going to knock the shit out of you" because it's irrefutable evidence that you're humping his daughter and her loyalty is with you and not him and that's how you would feel and react if a guy told you he was humping your daughter. You brace for impact because you know you have to be a man and take the hit and when he doesn't hit you? You finally feel like a grown up and then you're really scared.

Why is everyone getting bent out of shape about them saying "we've been trying"? that's a common phrase. Just cause you have unprotected sex doesn't mean you'll get pregnant right away. There's ways to plan around when you're ovulating, or just making a point to try throughout the month in hopes you'll conceive. Jeez people calm down, yes it takes to sex to have a baby, sometimes a lot of sex, now please grow up.
