My first record.....only problem we could not afford a record player, so we went to Birkenhead to second hand shop and for 10 shillings I bought a 1943 record player which ruined my record

Heard this first when I was 13 . To this day he remains my singing idol leaving aside the Beatles. Never a solo voice like Cliff's. Greatest thing that happened to him was the unbelievable backing by the Shadows. Unbeatable combo. The day he left the shadows he lost a great part of his magic. Never again Cliff never again a magical immortal group called the Shadows.❤❤❤

Early sixties were indeed some of the cream of pop .......I remember listening on a Sunday with my father to pop music ( 1960 ) on the wireless then seeing if I had enough pocket money to to buy a hit record.Happy Times long gone
