Hello Maurice, kindly do tutorials on tekla tedds.
@BIMEngr9 күн бұрын
### Introduction to the Tutorial [00:02](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U) - The tutorial begins with an introduction to the project: creating a concrete bridge with concrete pillars and shells. - The presenter outlines the initial setup, including defining the bridge profile using three circles on the grid. ### Defining Measurements and Profiles [02:44](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U) - Measurements are taken to ensure accurate distances (350 meters between centers). - The presenter discusses creating a custom pillar profile in AutoCAD and importing it into Tekla Structures. ### Creating the Pillar [05:23](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U) - The process of creating the pillar is demonstrated, including switching to a 3D view and adjusting properties like diameter and thickness. - The importance of aligning components is emphasized. ### Creating the Shell [08:18](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U) - The tutorial moves on to creating a shell that will sit atop the pillars. - Steps include selecting beam profiles and modifying them to fit the design specifications. ### Mirroring Components [10:59](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U) - The presenter explains how to mirror components across an axis to ensure symmetry in design. - This includes selecting midpoints for accurate placement. ### Populating Shells Along the Path [13:45](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U) - An array tool is used to populate shells along the defined path of the bridge. - Adjustments are made to ensure proper spacing and alignment. ### Finalizing Pillar Placement [16:04](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U) - Further adjustments are made to ensure all pillars are correctly positioned along the bridge path. - The presenter checks for any deviations from the intended design. ### Adding Footings [27:56](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U) - Footings are introduced as an essential part of the bridge structure. - Techniques for creating footings using slabs are demonstrated, including copying and positioning them accurately. ### Conclusion and Final Review [38:05](kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTRlJaKibJge9U285) - The tutorial wraps up with a review of the completed bridge model.

I am learning a lot from you. I have a question about numbering. There are hundreds of columns in a project. When I perform numbering, I want same columns to have same number with different series. For example there are 5 same columns in different locations. I want these columns to have Cxxx-1,CXXX-2,Cxxx-3,Cxxx-4,Cxxx-5 instead of Cxxx for all five. In addition I saw on drawing with DS2 a format xxxC-1,xxxC-2,xxxC-3,xxxC-4,xxxC-5. Can we make this format with TEKLA?

Sorry, but I have to say this: It's the worst way of modeling gratings or stairs. Please don't ever do this again. It may look good, but it's a disaster. A stair tread (or grating) is a part ordered from the factory. It should be modeled as a single part in the model. It will have one part number, one drawing, and it will appear as one part in the BOM. In IFC files, it will be represented as one part with properties indicating that it is a stair tread (or grating). What you have now is hundreds of flat bars welded together. This approach prevents you from creating proper drawings, generating an accurate bill of materials, and results in a huge and inefficient model.
@MauriceDimba2 ай бұрын
Yes, if you explode the component (tread) it stops being a single component but rather a heap of metals welded together, i did it for the purposes of education. but you intend to generate bill of materials from the staircase and tread on one go, kindly do not explode the tread component
