Absolutely Awesome. Love the way this is done with the signals and everything the same as the large guys, just shrunk down. Even to the signal cabins etc. Thank you for the trip around this wonderful attraction.

Grown men playing with trains! I LOVE IT! A most impressive layout, I must say, one of the most complicated and detailed miniature railways that I have ever seen.

This has to be one of the top 5 miniature RR on planet Earth! 🤔😀😁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🚂 I think Perseverance’s helicopter, Ingenuity just found a better one on Mars. 😆👽🚀🛸 Too bad this miniature RR doesn’t have miniature houses, water tanks, towns, etc. Wish the cameraman/engineer would have videoed the engine and rolling stock trailing him? 🤔😔🚂 I saw one yesterday that was way smaller and looked like we were passing through a garbage dump! Not maintained or landscaped like Great Cockcrow’s Miniature RR. 🤔😔

You'd get a LOT more interest and probably visitors if you'd tell people WHERE you are rather than assuming "everybody knows"

5 seconds on google gives you an answer, I believe the driver was just a visitor anyway so not exactly "their" railway to worry about...

21:10-I can’t figure out that overhead semaphore setup (I doubt I could with lights either!); could you help explain what semaphore on that signal goes to what?
@mattcollins1713 жыл бұрын
So working from left to right in the shot. 1 (HK19). Branch line signal (which is the signal the driver would have got at the start of the video), to peel off the main to go down the North Hardwick Branch. There are two signal arms on this signal - stop/go & distant 2 (HK 19). Down Main signal, this one tells you that you are going straight on. There are two signal arms on this signal - stop/go & distant 3 (HK9). This is for trains coming the wrong way on the North Hardwick Branch (so from the drivers view coming out of the Station they would see a white signal, thus can ignore it). 4/5/6/7 (HK2). These are all effectively the same signal, but they are for the Up Main coming into the station. They denote which platform you will go into. So once again they will look white from the drivers POV at 21:10. You can see them all from the opposite direction at 17:21 same as signal 3 (or more commonly known as HK9). 8 (HK4). Finally, this is the 'calling on' signal from the loco run round, which tells the driver that they are allowed to back on to the train in the platform. Shortly before 21:10 the driver would have gone through that signal. There is also a theatre indication box (you can see it at 20:55, illuminated to 1), this informs the driver which platform s/he is going back onto.
@2themoon8633 жыл бұрын
That has helped a lot! One last question- you mentioned, is the theatre indication box; there’s no equivalent in U.S. or Canadian railroading AFAIK. Why is it called “theatre indication box”? In other videos, I’ve seen a number (track number) or “OFF” (meaning?)...?
@mattcollins1713 жыл бұрын
@@2themoon863 So for Theatre Indicator Box (TI) they can display either numbers, letters or sometimes "OFF". They all denote the route that the train will take when they pass the signal. "OFF" just means that the signal has been pulled off (i.e. either proceed or caution aspect). The letters in a TI box can often be very cryptic to someone who doesn't know. TI boxes are normally used when there are lots of routes that train can take (generally at larger stations or junctions), as the standard feather indicators will be too cluttered and busy. I'm afraid that I don't know why it's called a Theatre Indication box. I'm sure someone might be able to chip in.
@russellmaiden80693 жыл бұрын
@@mattcollins171 They're called Theatre Indicators because in theatres that host 'variety' shows or other multi-act performances there was an indicator adjacent to the stage which could show the Act number, which related to the information given in the printed programmes that the audience would have for the show. Hence Theatre Indicator for railway use.
