You actually meant the pros of said vehicle at the end. I have heard from various mechanics about the problems with LS 460 and none of them would recommend it over the LS 430 or the LS 400 which are both great vehicles even to work on.

Thanks for letting all the unaware buyers know what they are in for. I have a 2017 and they are a money pit. Lexus is just not the company it started out to be. I've owned a '91 and '97 ls and they were far superior to this engineering nightmare.

@LexusLS460v8 if you have an LS460, they are unfortunately under the speaker shelf. I recommend getting some extended damper adjusters so you can adjust them without removing the rear shelf.

You took the car from elegant to trashy with the wheels and lowering. It's like buying a custom Savile Row Tuxedo and pairing it with Nike basketball shoes 🤣 You would have been better off buying the LC 500 wheels and adjusting the ride height to an OEM plus appearance.

My 08 Lexus LS is a non-navigation model. It used to kind of bother me, but seeing this, I'm good with it. No old pixelation or graphics either, other than the screen in the dash. Btw, do yourself a favor and replace your gas cap. When mine stopped clicking, I bought a new one and it seemed to restore the original fuel pressure! My normal ECT mode felt like the power mode, and the power mode shoved me back in my seat! So for $10, improve your acceleration. I have 150,000 miles on mine; bought it with just 100,000 miles. Very reliable for the car that it is. Worst of Lexus, but best of the saloon-style luxury cars.

Just replaced brake actuator/accumulator on my 07 LS Foxwell 710 bi directional scanner lets you bleed brakes ~$300 Part was $650 I believe. It was fairly straight forward . Just take your time! While in there I also replaced valve covers/spark plug boots/ fuel pump gasket which are all on the valve covers. It sounds scarier than actual. A few other problems- the transfer case tends to leak on one of the sides not sure in or out. Gasket needs to be replaced. When dealing w mileage above 140k and deciding to replace the struts whether air or coil replacement, replacing the CV axles might be a good idea because those boots will start to tear and leak and perhaps get stuff in them. Its cheaper and easier to just replace those CV axle assemblies while youre doing the struts.
@chrisbrownlovesrihanna
@chrisbrownlovesrihanna 10 күн бұрын
What coilovers do you have? I was looking at Strutmasters. My front air struts have excessive bounce. There are some cheap replacements ($250-350 ea for front on AWD) from a number of brands. Was wondering if I should try one of them or not. Many of them arent electronic so wont benefit from some of the air ride features in the car from what i understand. The steutmasters ive seen can have just the fronts installed, the rears left oem air, and work fine.
