The choreography seems different from the one that usually performed by geikos/maikos in gion kobu

It is great to be able to watch it, but this is not only MSR, but also ZNKR Iaido (Seitei Iai) - I didn't know that Sensei Mitsuzuka practiced ZNKR Iaido style. Very interesting, but it could not were filmed in early 70s - on the videa are two katas (Soetezuki and Shihogiri) which are added to this style in 1981. Regards :)

先代の至芸は申すまでもなく、地方の中澤真琴師、祇園老妓お二人の地唄、まさに上等な、重く渋い、そして無表情で淡々とした地唄、東京あたりの紛い物と厳然と違うマサにホンマ物や^_^

恐ろしい芸力。ただ脱帽。

She owned that dance. A real mistress of her craft and a true Japanese treasure. She was a legend.

Spectacular performance. Graceful and elegant. Yachio IV was a master of her craft. I'd love to see Yachio V perform the same dance.

うんざりするほど技の切れた井上八千代。 誰にもこのまねはできないだろうが・・・・後年の井上八千代の味わいの方がいい。

当時の八千代師匠様が娘様をお連れになられたとき京都舞とは日本画の美人画伝承そのものが踊りにあると感銘を受けた当時が懐かしい事でございます　お金持ちに敏感で驚きも大きく、、、、、俗世というものを見た瞬間でもございまして、文部省の人を呼んで来て脇にいてもらったほどで文化庁の人に子供には刺激が強すぎましたと伝えた時もありました。今はただただすごい世界があるという感じで、、、私からは遠望浮く幻影のようで、感情たっぷりリアリティ余りあり情念とはかくも踊りで演じられるのかと驚嘆したのでございました

I always find historic footage to be interesting. I am assuming by the noise that it was shot on some variant of 8mm cine originally. Do you know roughly when it was shot?

This is performed by Inoue Yachiyo IV at that. She's the Grand Dance Master of Inoue-ryu that created Gion Kouta. That was just spectacular. :D
