I’m replying to this just because some people obviously have the issue I had but I can’t find an answer online. Our 2010 R57 has NO retaining clip for the bulb. The bulb twists into place. So if you have no retaining clip turn anticlockwise about a 1/6th or a turn and it will pull out. I can find nothing online detailing this.

Measure the area where the butterfly is - if it's 1.75" it's an HIF44.

How do you disable the light? I like most people use my visor as a sun visor so it's draining the battery if it's all the way down especially if it's holding up a sun shade

I’ve done a few of those coolant pipes behind the engine. Learned the hard way that it pays to pull off the manifold since that’s the only way to make sure the oring seats correctly in the back of the pump. I also use the dielectric grease since without that it’s impossible

I have a 67 BJ8, very similar wiring, so this was helpful. I've put in blade fuses to the switched components, but the hot (brown wire) leads are unfused as original and concern me a bit. Sorry if I missed it in the various fuses, but did you (or do you recommend) placing an inline fuse in the hot lead going to the ignition switch? Or any other brown lead for that matter? Thanks.

Not unless it's something prone to failure or shorting. If those ignition switches are fairly robust I don't think I'd worry about it.

To remove the bearing just put a wooden block against the axle with the axle nut on few turns and install the wheel you took off to press it up agaisnt the block by tightening the wheel nuts. It should remove the hub easily when you tighten the wheel nuts against the block of wood.

Yes, the covers are available in new castings these days with the seals already installed. The only ones we have currently have are for gearbox rebuilds but they are available from ESM in the UK, too: www.morrisminorspares.com/gearbox-c76/gearbox-all-o-h-v-models-gearbox-c79/gearbox-front-cover-r-h-d-with-oil-seal-modification-1098cc-new-p830914 That one works for LHD Sprites/Midgets and RHD Morris Minors with ribcase gearboxes (1098 and 1275's).

Thanks for the comprehensive video. As an aside, is it just me … or is anyone annoyed as hell that the entire visor needs to be replace just because the cover falls off? Why can’t only the visor cover be replaced?

No. It is just the mirror COVER that needs to be replaced. The lights are behind the cover. I found a good video on how to pop it off and snap on the new coer. Inexpensive and quick...order from ebay or amazon (got mine on amazon). I too did not see why he had to replace the visor.

On a 5-5.5" inch wheel you should be good - couldn't say on a 6" wide rim. I believe there are folks who do run them without issue, however. I would ask on the forums about someone's exact set-up if you're concerned.
