I'm Brazilian from Sao Paulo and I lived many times in Portugal as well. I don't have any difficulty in understanding thel Portuguese.spoken in Portugal . I've been to Vigo, Spain and I was impressed with the similarities of Brazilian Portuguese and Galician.. I speak Italian and French as well.😊

You forgot to mention the loan words English took from afrikaans! They're mostly animals native to southern Afrika, like wildebeest, meerkat, boomslang, aardvark. The white rhino is also called white because of a mistranslation. As a dutchf*g, my favourite word in afrikaans is "verkleurmannetje" which means chameleon and translates to "colour changing guy"

"женщина, что сидит на стуле" is a correct sentence (or first part of the complex sentence) in Russian. Sounds more like written than spoken form, and maybe not very modern.

Possibly complicated by the fact that before the Anglo-Saxons started arriving, Brittonic Celtic languages in the 6th century had already been influenced by Latin, mainly due to Latin-speakers switching their main language back to Celtic after the decline of Roman influence. Also we know that Celtic was not driven out of England that quickly as Brittonic Celtic languages were being spoken in East Anglia (and likely other pockets of England) right up until at least Chaucer's time. It is strange that there are not more Celtic vocab and word borrowings into English though.

1:50 I wanted to point out that "caffè espresso" does not mean pressed-out coffee, but express (on-demand) coffee¹. Home-brewed coffee from a moka is pressed-out as well, but is poured from a moka instead of drippling directly from a coffee maker like at the bar. To Q1: Extensively, but only in infor4mal situations or when I want to break the ice in some formal contexts, because no one expects it. To Q2: We are very ware of our differences and isolation, to the point many of us say, only half jokingly, that we do not speak spanish, but "chileno". Love your content, btw.

Mahatma Gandhi advocated Hindustani, as the language both Hindus and Muslims speak and understand. He understood the culture war and wanted people to come together instead of fighting each other. Even the first Indian PM, Nehru spoke Hindi that was close to Hindustani. Over a period of time though, the languages are diverging. But music, poetry and movies bring the two together.

As an american Who mainly understands turkic languages,and My native english and Japanese, I happen to find Armenian super easy to pronounce and understand but have a harder time with the alphabet,and grammar😂

Bulgarian or Bugarski is not a Slav language. The name Bugar corectly said "Ugar" is in synonym with ",Ugari or Ugarska" Hungary again (H)-Ungar-(y). Both Hungary are or belong to the Asistic Mongols or todays Turkic speaking peoples notbtelated to the Slavs or Slavic languahed. Bulgaria was created by Khan Kuburat descendant of Ghengis Khan. Kuburat jad comquered Slavic peoplrs who today make up 90% of the country. The mongold adopted the language and customs as thus was a very reliable way of ruling the locals. The Slvic peopčes they conquered were the Serbx documented living around the black Sea and what neca e Sofia.

The name Serbia is also not Slavic. It's taken from the Latin ''Servi'' which is short from ''service'' used as to describe servant people. Idk why Serbs are still called servants? Also Serbian in Bulgarian means ''itching'' or you have a feeling that something itches or someone who slurps the soup loudly, just like what you are doing to Russia and what you did to Bulgaria in 1885. The truth is whole Serbia used to be Bulgaria and that's a fact. Serbs are the only people who claim all the Slavs were ''Serbs.'' May you give me that document where it says that or you can't? Also no one calls here ''Bugarski'' it's only you and the wannable Macedonians who can't pronounce Ъ due to speech defect.

Every single Chilean, from Cuicos (old money) to Flaites (people from any socio-economic background who displays bad education, curse every one word, and act disagreeable) aspires the s whether in the middle or at the end of a word. More over, if you speak pronouncing every s, and every word in general, its considered "siùtico", which means basically, one who tries to show off as educated. eg: one who says , " Bebé" meaning baby. In Chile, a baby is a guagua, unless you're "siutico". And yes, Cubans are forgiven for riding guaguas (buses in cuba). AI has so much to learn when it comes to spanish.

Honestly the criticism of Esperanto not being international enough looks kinda dumb to me. If you mixed all languages together then it would become hard for everyone to learn. If you used the Latin alphabet it will be hard for the Arabs, if you use the Arabic alphabet it will be hard for anyone whose native language uses the Latin alphabet, and if you use something in between then it will be hard for both. By basing the language off European languages, Zamenhof made Esperanto as easy as possible for everyone without making it complex. You can't expect any language to be fully international.

I'm a native Finnish Speaker. I can not understand that much estonian if I listen it spoken. If I read it, i have time to decipher it way more. Still can't understand everything. Listening Estonian sounds like someone is speaking old south-western dialects of Finnish but way more south-western than there exists :D I don't believe that exposure only is enough to learn understand Estonian for a native Finn. IMO studying is needed. I have never tried to learn Estonian though. Still I know bunch of their words. I think most of Finns know many Estonian words and sentences.
