You divide by 8 instead of 6 and you cut out 8 pieces.

@ZERO11KLOTHINGS7 күн бұрын

Hello very good tutorial. I have a summer dress with an inverted pleate in the front of the dress from the neck line. How do I make the width of this dress smaller? There is too much material around the stomach decrease at least 8 inches on each side ? Thank you

Great tutorial, very clear and detailed. I decided to use your tutorial, but instead of dividing the front and back equally I added 2” to the front bust and waist circumference, and minus 2” on the back bust and waist circumference. I leant it from somewhere else. The tutor explained that women’s front and back are not equal due to our bust and waist extensions, it made perfect sense. I always wondered why the side seam was not always where it should be, it is often closer to the centre front/back seams. I tried it and it worked.

I'd like to try this, but I need to know how would you finish the armhole and hem the dropped sleeve?
@ZERO11KLOTHINGS17 күн бұрын
You will use a facing. The neckline facing will be cut together with the hem of the dropped sleeve and the lower part of the armhole curve. Or a lining, if it’s a lined garment .

Oh my goodness! You are so skilled. I'm amazed at all of your calculations and everything. Before this moment, I didn't know that I could measure and calculate everything. I was just sewing and praying lol. Thanks for posting this. It is exactly what I needed. I'll be sure to come back and see what else you make (after I make my own shirt--I'm hoping to wear it for the first day of the semester tomorrow!) Absolutely brilliant. I was wondering tho, when you say "facing", what do you mean?
@ZERO11KLOTHINGSАй бұрын
I am glad that you find the tutorial helpful. This facing is the neckline facing. It is usually cut together with the neckline when making a cowl neckline garment ….. this way you don’t have to worry about how to finish the neckline of your cowl neck garment.
