This was THE version. They really messed it up, just like with True Love Waits =/

I love hearing the evolution of Radiohead songs. The album version is freaking perfect, but this version is more cool and rocking.

every arrangement of nude is amazing. although the little flourishes of the studio version make it my favorite, this is still very nice

Wooh, this version is incredible! Here it turns out what the original idea of this song was. There is much more tension in it (guitars at the beginning are awesome), and then a pleasant denouement. Perhaps it is a little more interesting than the studio version, it's even a pity that they did so. It's the same with 4 minute warning, the early concert versions were great.

4 minute warning was so good in early concert form. I listened to it so many times anticipating how great it'd be on the record. Lol... let down and hanging around, much? 😅

The way he describes Neil’s voice is exactly my thoughts on Thom’s voice. I adore his voice, because there’s no filter. It’s just purely what comes out naturally. It’s finding that flow, and not questioning it. I think it’s a special quality that is really beautiful.

Agreed. Some of the most distinctive singers aren't considered classically 'good'. However, their voices are unique -- it's like they've got their very own instrument that nobody else can ever borrow. One phrase and you know it's them. How cool is that? Meanwhile there's countless 'good' singers out there, but they're largely interchangeable / anonymous. As David Byrne said, "The better a singer's voice, the harder it is to believe what they're saying".

Never cared much for Dylan either it seemed to me people were expected to like Dylan the only thing he ever did that I considered great was blood on the tracks a lot of other stuff was kind of garbage I thought

Dissecting Neil Young in an interview is difficult. Asking another great artist is intricate because your talking about very personal and intimate experiences. It may be about musical styles or lyrics or production. It’s like asking Philip Glass about about Einstein dancing on the beach! How does one articulate a feeling or historic relevance. Anecdotally interesting but it’s just referential. How do you speak about your heroes? I think York does it best with his music, because we hear the references and the legacy of great music, but that’s what it is, a reference. Analyzing the bits is a bit banal isn’t it? It’s about the feeling. Radio Head have transcended! One day some musician will be asked how did Thom York influence you? By the way no one sounds like Thom Yorker!

I haven't seen too many interviews with Thom Yorke, but what I've noticed with all of them is that Thom always tries to give honest answers and not pretending something, which unfortunately a lot of musicians do. That makes him very sympathetic to me, regardless of his music (which I appreciate very much).

[Verse 1] Get yourself together, let the light pour in Pour yourself a hot bath, pour yourself a drink Nothing's gonna happen without warning [Chorus 1] Down is the new up What is up, buttercup? Down is the new up, is the new up [Post-Chorus 1] Won't you be my girl? Won't you be my girl? [Verse 2] Your services are not required Your future's bleak, you're so last week Ladies and gentlemen, without a safety net I shall now perform a 180 flip-flop I shall now amputate, I shall now contort [Chorus 2] Because down is the new up What if I just flip-flop? Down is the new up, down is the new up Down is the new up, is the new up [Post-Chorus 2] You crawled off and left us, you crawled off and left us You crawled off and left us You bastard You bastard [Outro] You're on candid camera The chink in your armour Topsy turvy town Topsy turvy town Shake your pockets out Pass it on, pass it down Topsy turvy town Topsy turvy town
