Battery size?

This is the only difficult part of getting this trash can. The written instructions - well it was only pictures and I got the filter and cover off but could not figure out how to open the battery compartment. I saw small screws. I also saw the two tabs but I could not get my fingers behind them to push them forward. After watching this I realized the retainer ring for the trash bag was up against this area and I needed to remove it. Once I did I was able to push the tabs down to open the battery compartment (wasn't the easiest thing to do) and then when I tried to close it after installing the batteries it was a bit difficult to get it to snap in place. Actually the first time I didn't get it in place and once I flipped it over the batteries spilled out. Anyway, the video does help.

Note: when new, the odor filter comes in a plastic bag you should remove before replacing. This video shows that plastic bag already removed.

On the second day it opened, it never closed again. I changed the batteries that were new from a Home Depot and still no automatic play. I do not recommend investing your hard earned money even if it is just $60 with taxes. I already had a garbage can that did nothing for me. Should have left good enough alone! You are robbing the American consumer and should be stopped.
