Nice kart mate. The guards improve the aesthetic too, imo. Friend and I are looking at some Blazar karts to buy but he is also keen on the 270cc model. I read a 15-20kg heavier motor but stats vary a bit. I’m thinking a somewhat modded 200 like yours is better power to weight than the considerably heavier 270 which may have a higher top speed, at least both out of their boxes. Any thoughts?

Sorry, I just noticed your Briggs is a 61302, 6 cubic inches, not 8. The rod is different. Nice job refreshing this engine.
@josephfine3394 Жыл бұрын
Actually, this is a model 81302 not an 8B. Differences are: the intake is same size as exhaust on 8B, block has continuos casting mold parting seam, crank is forged not cast, number plate is on side of block not a blank with numbers and specs on recoil housing, flywheel is zinc not cast iron, and magneto is the old style square unit. Starter cover is the older style, there were 2 different designs, from 53-57 and 58-60. Look on flywheel and there is a date code. My 8B says "58." The valve tappets should be the same length. Your engine has low hours and is in pretty nice shape.

I don’t see why people don’t just get a torque converter. Because then your 3.6:1 on takeoff would turn into a 10.8 and final drive would be 3:6:1 so you’d get takeoff without sacrificing your speed so it’ll be better than a jackshaft that won’t even fit hardly

What modifications would you recommend for my 200cc drifta kart
@IvanU905 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you want to achieve, is the stock standard setup? I'd start by removing the governor if you haven't already, just allows it to rev out freely! More RPM = More speed. If you want grunt for small hills/heavy people I'd reccomend the 2:1 gearbox like mine, it lowers the top speed but you can still achieve around 60km/h

Gonna look into it more now, with all the distributors we tried we may not have ensured that the firing order "starting position" was correct. Apparently there's a notch ontop of the dizzy that indicates where #1 fires, as #3 has a slightly offset ignition timing so unless 3 is where it's supposed to be then its wont fire properly... but I will have to do some research b4 I say any more!
