I’m not an Olympic level athlete, but I’m sure the practice and discipline required to reach Simone’s level don’t leave time for 5 hour sessions in beauty shop getting hair braided, or “fried, dyed, and laid to the side”. Simone is not only black excellence, she’s universally excellent and I’m proud of her. I agree with whoever said “y’all need to get a life.”

As a black braider that moved in France that's a fact that i learned myself. Native african and kids who come from two native of africa have SO MUCH HAAIR . Those are my worst customers and they really have nothing to do with that it's just the AMOUNT OF HAIR . I'm black and from french west indies so i am use to a lot of pattern but you can't tell me the african have common scalp .

We look at superficial, materialistic, and artificial stuff like hair instead of what the woman has accomplished. Simone is a role model for young women and men. Yet, we focusing on superficial stuff like her appearance, her hair. She has dominated the sport of female gymnastic and here some of are focusing on her hair instead of how she has dominated the all around sport of gymnastic and just won gold.
