You couldn't have a show like this on TV today Censors would have a field day on this one Most people are so damn uptight now u can barely say or do anything so what we supposed to do keep quiet? If u keep quiet people probably would have a problem with that too !

Real bacon always tastes the best. By a long ways. And soy bacon is... well, you already know. But other health options exist. A lot closer to real bacon, on the spectrum. Turkey bacon. Not neatly as good But not bad Tolerable, if you have to eat it. .

35:25 -- Oh, I wish I could go back in time! Daniel Boone absolutely hated coonskin hats. He thought they were nasty, smelly, and full of lice and fleas. He was only depicted wearing one in the TV series starring Fess Parker. Parker had previously held the title role in the show _Davy Crockett,_ in which he wore a coonskin cap, and I guess the cap manufacturers wanted to keep the sales going.

Time hasn't been kind to laugh in. Those LBJ and VietNam jokes have a definate shelf life.
@ToniHunterOne2 күн бұрын
Not if you were alive during the VietNam police action. Look at it this way. Laugh-in his history with humor. If you studing that era you'll begin to see the pearls of wisdom and humor as it goes along. I If you're just looking for the humor and don't know your history, of course its dated.

@@ToniHunterOne George Schlatter hit the times just right. He had the visual look, the liberal outlook, and the pacing which were perfect for the period. It's a pop cultural time capsule, and I'm about 99% certain Schlatter intended it to be precisely that.

The first season of LAUGH-IN was probably the show's best season.
@ToniHunterOne2 күн бұрын
That was before the flying fickle finger of fate forgot the fly in the face of the censors. All of these shows SNL, Laugh-in, Flip Wilson, The Sonny & Cher Show, etc they had a free hand for their first 1 to 3 shows. They played late night and the Powers that controlled the network the and their subordinates didn't think anyone was paying attention. They thought it was just mostly non-sense. Part of the free wheeling downfall was because they were become popular. Popularity causes buzz and while buzz is great it also brings attention to what they're up to. The first Season or so of SNL, There was a lot of drug use, people were sleeping in the studio when off air. Lots of hanky and panky going on. It was fun unchecked.
