@DWraysGarage8 күн бұрын
If the shade is not retracting it's possible that the spring within the mechanism has failed. You could remove and try to rewind it/readjust the shade and mechanism to see if it will revert back to factory. If the spring has simply lost tension, you should be able to wind it back - a bit of a fiddle but worth trying before spending $500 on a new shade. Good luck!

I completely drained the coolant while replacing the water pump and the thermostat. I then filled it with Zerex G40 50/50 mix coolant using the tool and process shown in this video. The difference is that I also added the DRIVEN CSP additive for the coolant; the additive came with the water pump kit I bought from LN Engineering. Here is the big problem: 24mos and 5K miles later, my coolant is super cloudy with small clumps of something. This is obviously really bad since those clumps can clog the cooling system and the coolant might have become ineffective and start causing rust in the entire system. I understand that the cause for such cloudy/clumpy coolant can be from mixing incompatible coolants. In this case, the only mixing I did was the G40 and the DRIVEN CSP. I don't know if that additive is compatible with the G40 or not My next step is to flush the system and refilling it again. And just to be safe, I am avoiding any coolant additives.

Did you ever figure out the second gear issue?
@DWraysGarageАй бұрын
Yes. A viewer and I were wrestling with same issue at same time and chatted. Ultimately, it comes down to length setting of the cable rods and fully securing the cables to the transmission tunnel and then some ‘calibrating’. I had to counter intuitively (to me) use a much more extreme set length on the rods to be able to find all the gears comfortably.

@DWraysGarageАй бұрын
I miss it on a couple of fronts, yeah. One - this was the first car I really spent the time to understand and work on. Two - I used the car for its built purpose without hesitation. Three - it was the best version this chassis could be for me. The saving grace here on some levels is that a friend of mine bought it - albeit 1000 miles away. There’s a good reason there are few 987.2s that come up for sale…

Almost finished with this job. Not. Fun. Any suggestions for tidying up the vacuum hoses/wires? There’s no spot on the plenum to connect and dangling hoses are never cool. And are we sure that just pushing that small hose on is going to last when Porsche thought it needed gluing? This aspect of this product is a disappointment. So many small things not considered. They could have cast spots to attach those electrical connectors for the vacuum lines. I had to reroute the larger breather hoses and so they too need tethering and again, you’re on your own. They didn’t machine enough off the throttle body connector pipe to allow an 8mm socket to fit all the way down to fully tight. Or at all on the bottom two bolts. We deserve a better product. IPD’s own instructions are poor as well. Sigh.

Thank you!!! I just finished fluid and filter change for mine, 2021 macan base. Opened the filling plug, then drained the rest, total 4.750 L. Then replaced the filter, and started filling up. I had a buddy helping with a little tube and a funnel from the top of the car. After 4.3L it started overflowing. Then started the car, changed gears and topped off another 200ml, total of 4.5L. I did not have the icarsoft tool, so how do i get the other 250ml in?. What I end up doing was to take the car off the ramps , then use only the driver side ramps, which tilted the whole car towards the passenger side. Then opened the fill plug, no fluid was coming out since the car was on an angle, added the rest 250ml, closed the plug and that's it. 4.75L out - 4.75 in. Please let me know if you think I did something wrong. Hope this helps other diy'ers. Thanks again for the detailed video!
