I lost interest after Mad Sweeney died. In all fairness, I only watched because Pablo Schreiber was involved.

First, I completely agree, but you're doing it wrong... This is just one of those movie series that you CAN'T CONNECT to the video game, CAN'T CONNECT for story line, and you have stop thinking so hard about it. Just like many of the 90's actions flicks you just gotta sit back (grass optional) and enjoy it for what it is. An action movie with no purpose greater than the enjoyment of the action. If you can do that you can enjoy this and the full alien series you mentioned. That being said, I'll never enjoy anything past T2. Even taking those movies with basic expectations, they're still bad.

I was already on the fence after the first movie. The whole Alice thing was definitely sour and hard to digest. I had hope for Apocalypse because of how iconic Nemesis is.. but it fell so short with the subplots of Alice and "Dr. Ashford".. they also nerfed Jill for the sake of Alice.. Alice's church intro was so over the top bullshit I laughed out loud in the theater... oh and don't forget the fire blanket shielding an explosion, not a fire... I lost all interest when the 3rd movie was announced.. Ashanti and Mike Epps being the lowest points of the marketing. Such shit characters.

Not being a fan of the games I think the first 3 was at least fun to watch.

When I saw the 3rd movie, I just went "HOW???" when it turns out the T-Virus spread and screwed the world over despite they clearly nuked Racoon City and wiped out the infection. And the 6th movie suddenly cut to everyone is already dead despite that badass standoff at the end of 5 is really terrible, especially since apparently there's a book explaining what happened. Having a obscure book that not everyone can easily access for proper details to explain something for a major thing in the next movie(such as why is it cut to everyone is already dead) is absolutely stupid. Heck, they did this between the 2nd and 3rd movie too about the sleeper agent bit. As in they had Alice kill the kid and she split off from the gang for their safety. So that plot point of Alice is a sleeper agent towards the gang was pulled off IN A BOOK with no line in the movie.

Milla is only in these movies cause she is the directors wife. Pathetic. Her acting is sub-optimal at best.

You mention how the dialogue is clunky. But say the (child) actors were not good. I dont think anyone can be good with such clunky dialogue. I just inagine A list actors trying to deliver these lines and I have trouble seeing it too. I think the actors did really great for what they were given. And I think they really did as much as they could with the characters, despite the script and direction they were forced to take
