George makes valid points; the book was better tied together than the series will be. But the series is already remarkably loyal to the book, and you can't adapt everything - it is a different medium. I also kind of like the way Helaena is more centered in her visions in the show. In the book, everything she ever did had to do with her children, or was because of her children. I like that she's more than just a vessel and reactor to her kids this time around. She still seems attached to Jaehaera, so perhaps that causes her suicide. Or she 'steps out' when all her prophecies have come true, being done with the world. I also love her essentially setting up the Gods Eye to do away with both Aemond and Daemon, reducing the impact on the war from both sides. Power move :P

The only fitting replacement I can see is the death of Jaehaera causing Helaena’s suicide. Because we didn’t see Jaehaera escaping with Aegon and Larys so she’s probably still at the red keep. And the marriage pact after the war between Aegon III and Jaehaera was basically pointless because she killed herself just a couple years after. The only question is how Jaehaera is going to die differently from the book.

The most effective solution would be this: Jaehaera replaces Maelor. Plain and simple. Rickard Thorne exists in the show (played by Vincent Regan), he's the one who accompanies Alicent in the forest in episode 7. We could see things like this: after Alicent realizes that Aegon is no longer there, she would want to protect Jaehaera. When Rhaenyra arrives in King's Landing, Alicent will ask Thorne to take Jaehaera to Oldtown (and Helaena will have to stay to order the opening of the city gates because she will have full powers following the departure of Aegon and Aemond). And then, well, the Bitterbridge event happens.

@@ciandryl I highly doubt we'll see the marriage between Aegon III and Jaehaera in the show. Aegon is still a toddler, as is Jaehaera. The show probably ended when the war ended and Aegon II died.

When he shh, shh, shhed, Daemon I was cracking up. It still boggles my mind how there's been so many people who whined and complained about the Harrenhal storyline, honestly, I could watch a whole movie of just that where it gets really intense. It has so much potential as its own horror/psych thriller.
