Wouldn’t white do Pawn C4 instead of NC3 in the Dragon Acc.? Just wondering because then you cannot play d5 at all

15. Bh4 ... 16. Bg5 (instead of what you calculated Bg3) I think that wins the d pawn no? Liked your position after that.

These have been super fun to watch. Would be nice to see the whole UI for the clocks and notation, as well as rating and the piece imbalance (kind of like how I have it set up when I stream). Keep it up - let's have a few longer games against each other soon!

Why does a master level player plays 6.Be3 ?? Its a horrible move. 6.Be2 gives you a nice advantage without much effort. Its a very common line, I am sure he knows the theory. Instead Be3 puts you instantly in a bad position. What is the point of studying an opening just to give black an advantage.
@SCRagnarok3 жыл бұрын
I think it’s important to know that even masters can make a simple mistake in any game. It’s hard to memorize theory in every opening. Both be2 and be3 are usually played eventually but if you play be3 too quick and don’t address your weaknesses, your opponent can pick up on it quickly

12.bd6 is playable because if white accepts black's b pawn, black can play rb8, winning back the pawn and getting a monster rook. also, i dont see many squares besides a6 for the queen (Qa6, Qxa6, bxa6), and that loses another queenside pawn. after black castles kingside, whites lighsquare bishop is doing nothing, and black controls the 2nd rank with thoughts of doubling

I don't think 4.c3 gives White much edge. I believe 4.Nxd4 is most accurate, but to keep any significant edge you have to keep coming up with the best moves.
@neomatrix25264 жыл бұрын
Slightly incorrect I believe. At 4:35 you say if the black king has you in opposition, it is a draw and you can't win? If you stay with opposing kings and walk the other king to the very right hand side of the board, then their king is suddenly one square too far to catch the pawn, and it can make a break for the back rank to queen, unaided by the white king. Worth a shot anyway.
@SCRagnarok4 жыл бұрын
Definitely true if the black king follows the king and stays in opposition. I probably should have mentioned the other main idea of the defending king is to stay in front of the pawn. If white tries to pull the black king away from the pawn with Ke5 then black should not follow suit with Ke7, but rather jump in front of the pawn with Kc6. Let me know if that answers your question!
@neomatrix25264 жыл бұрын
@@SCRagnarok Correct. As I said worth a shot, because it relies on your opponent blindly following you in opposition to the edge, rather than staying with the pawn. Yes answered well.

white is not a master. 2200 on Lichess is more like 1900 Fide. Though for whatever reason, there seems to be a lot of weak over rated players as well. I'm a mere 2000 Uscf. I don't study the game though

why do you even post that? white did an idiotic mistake 5th move. do you think it's worth attention? worth of posting human idiotic behaviour and mistakes? or do you think it's cool to win from the idiots? or is it an idiotic game and I just missed smth?

Opened this video for some Alapin ideas. Unfortunately finding out this is indeed a 1500 ELO analysis. Kudos though for the efforts, chess is cool and you will learn. But any 2000+ ELO would never play this variation. There is a rare known line by the way with 11. 0-0-0 that gives white an edge. With the semi open g file and bisshop pair it's actually black that will become exposed after 11.. Bxc3 12. d5!

Nice tactical disclosure on the uncastled King. I play the Dragon line all the time against +2000 rated players (I'm 1884) and find that many Yugoslav players don't know many of the complex pitfalls that await a misstep, missed tempo. Best game for Dragon players to study is the crushing defeat of Korchnoi in 1974 to the great Karpov; positional and tactical ideas and lessons abound! Very well presented...just curious, what's your rating??
